The war's aims won't be achieved, the hostages won't be returned through military pressure, security won't be restored and Israel's international ostracism won't end

We've lost. Truth must be told. The inability to admit it encapsulates everything you need to know about Israel's individual and mass psychology. There's a clear, sharp, predictable reality that we should begin to fathom, to process, to understand and to draw conclusions from for the future. It's no fun to admit that we've lost, so we lie to ourselves.
Was in Beirut back in the 80's. Having seen the israeli military up close, I can't tell you how fucking sick and tired I am of hearing how "great" they are, or ever were.

My old man was over there during the same time, his stories about how much of a shit hole Israel was even back then always stood out to me. I believe his ship docked at Haifa right after the barracks bombing.

In reality, Israel has dominated militarily. Imagine if the American Indians had never given up, and kept launching raids into White territory. That happened for a while, but they eventually got the message.
If I was in charge of Israel, I'd be doing the same. The alternatives are you either dissolve the country, or live with more Oct. 7ths, amid continuous rocket attacks, giving Hamas a real victory.
We went into Afghanistan for 20 years after 9/11. And those goat herders were halfway across the world.
