The thing with herds is that once you nudge them enough in the right direction and get them moving the herd is an absolute force to be reckoned with. And it is very difficult, if not impossible outside of running them off a cliff, to stop a stampeding herd. It is silly to say there is nothing to work with there. Yes, they are smug and stupid. Yes, their perception of what others might think about them dictates their actions and opinions. This is the very thing that makes them dangerous. It also makes them extremely useful.
