Sorry but 'progress' always happens in the direction of less freedom, less diversity, less responsibility. AI is all about conformity. There will probably be a short wild west period were AI actually inspires new and informs new genres. But like what happened to the internet AI won't set more people free than it will put in echo chambers. Absent some catastrophic event the future will suck. We can just hope it happens gradually enough for us to be dead before it gets unbearable.

The same will apply to songwriters. You think anyone will sit down and string together something memorable once AI 'hacked' our auditory pleasure circuits and shits out total bangers by the millions? In 20 years only a few 'offline weirdos' will even be talking about music anymore because as soon as you open Spotify everything will be tailored to your individual tastes totally defying all genre conventions.
Does that sound cool? Definitely. Do I really wanna live in such a world? Probably not.
