Yes, back in the day, but I've never watched teevee much, and I remember them.

Nope.
Back in the late 90's I was thinking about making a funny documentary about why you never see mexicans at a chinese restaurant and vice-versa and make it seem like they have beef with each other. I came to my senses though

I’m gonna cruise by the nearest chink buffet and test this theory. There’s a bunch of spics in the nearest big town.

Definitely not the franchised Chinese take out (Golden China, Great Wall, etc). They are very low budget and have minimal overhead expenses. At best I’ve seen the local fancy ‘Chinese restaurant’ or buffet advertise or put coupons in the newspaper.

Yeah there is one in Dallas. I think it’s on Walnut Hill. It’s a huge buffet. I’ve never been in it, sounds scary to me.

They dont really need to advertise, although they do.

Usually in print and online although I have seen tv commercials and radio ads they are just rare.

Chinese is a staple and takeout is geographic in nature so ppl find the one closest or the one they like and eat there. Most ppl who enjoy Chinese food will make it a point to try the different restaurants in their area and decide their favorite

I have seen ads in the money saver mailers, or menus at least

I have been there a bunch of times. They were all Chinese staff with strong accents.

How many commercials have you seen for local-owned restaurants? It's the chains that do commercials.
