Don't take your eyes off the blade other than for the 1.5 seconds it takes to look at where the attacker's eyes are focused, maintain composure until the threat comes within the security zone of 6ft, if you're confident in your ability you'll wait until you defect the attacker's body and then grab the wrist of the hand with the knife and with your other hand coming up underneath the elbow with the simutaneous twisting motion of attacker's wrist, always maintain tight grip on the knife wrist and while doing this turn your crouching body tight into the attacker all the while keeping the knife arm extended, there's no strength in an extended arm...come down hard with the wrist while keeping attacker's elbow in your hand and you should be able to snap his joint or at very least a hyper extension...the other alternative is drop and sweep kick the attacker's legs but get up fast so as to stomp the knife hand first and then the head, ribs/kidney is 2nd option...if a chair, broom handle or anything of the sort is in reach use it...9mm is best...NOTE...you should know this stuff once you're in your late teens.
