Inject them with doses of venom from all of the various venomous animals in Australia. Do it in small amounts each time. Not enough to kill at first, just enough to inflict agony and suffering, and maybe crippling injuries. let them sample some from each animal.

Do this all on livestream so the message is broadcast loud and clear. Then finish them off however you want, if they survive the venom smorgasbord.

Doesn't it already take very little venom from poisonous species to kill a person? Jeff Hanneman from Slayer died because of a spider bite, but it took a while.
