Are they going to scrap that ridiculous turbine engine?

I hope they replace it with a worse one. Something so high-tech, with so many finely-tuned parts wizzing around at such speeds that the damned things never work outside of the training grounds.

New(battery) design allows for tank to catch fire without being hit.

The ukraine niggers are saying the abrams tank is a piece of shit.

When you can knock one out with a $200 drone, yeah it's outlived it's usefulness.

look at the maintenance requirements for this shit. that's the problem - it's of limited use in actual war.

"Our precious tank lost in Ukraine... so we are trying again. "

wasn't the whole point of the abrams that is could go toe to toe with up to six t-72s? Designed back in the cold war for this EXACT battlefield????

Of course all the A3's that are left, (only like 1000-1,500 now after the debacle of afgan and the closing of the last tank factory???) are still back on the nato line and not anywhere near the front line.

Fun fact: We'll never have A3's again. We used up all the uranium.

Is it going to perhaps be even more expensive than the existing version? That would be another great opportunity to spend more taxpayer money on kickbacks.

The tank is obsolete, make way for the robodog.

I have no idea why we even bother to use these things still. You can wipe one out with an RPG and the reactive armor costs more than the RPG fired at it. Artillery can do its job better and further away. IF ground forces become desperate they never call tanks in they call in air strikes.

so in us military terms they will have a replacement for it that is nothing like the current abrams, wont be a tank, will be designed for 5 different tasks and subsequently fail at all of them, be rolled out in 35 years, only to be replaced by an updated abrams, because someone finally asked the question (after 5 billion dollars spent) "Why dont we just update what weve got?"

Sorry... watched some semi comedy docudrama about the bradley a few weeks back. Kelsey Grammar made a great angry bumblefuck dc military pencil pusher.
