Kurt faked his death. The death scene photos show his head and hair intact. Shotgun to the head is very messy, but not Cobain.

Cobain was gay and Hollywood had him marry Courney love to hide it. He couldn't stand her and cashed out. Haircut, facial hair and a new name lets him walk unnoticed among us today.
