The only safety that matters to any cop is their own safety. They are violent thugs who hate you and want any excuse to murder you, your children, and your dog.
At the end of the day they were the kids you went to high-school with, shared a video game controller and went down the path they did.
You seen the seminars these cops now attend? Cops are soldiers essentially these days, they refuse you if you show intelligence by critical thinking and not regurgitation.
I ain't saying obey without delay, because fuck 12. I am saying that they didn't start that way and we should figure out what it is that made them that way now.
I never, ever, go into any traffic ticket or even minor law enforcement situation without a lawyer. This has saved me a lot of money, points (higher insurance), and is basically asshole repellant.
I don't like lawyers, but I won't hesitate to use them.
I agree, those laws shouldn't exist at all. If you want to put yourself in danger that's your business and no one else's, so long as no one else is in danger.

Speeding shouldn't be a penalty either as long as no one is injured. I don't give two fucks if someone is going 80 in a 25 so long as no one is hurt I don't see the issue with it.
Did you know thar the court that adjudicates the traffic ticket, in Texas anyway, get to keep half the fine? And, that the head judge of that court is the one who sets the budgets for that court?
Because, somehow, it's NOT a conflict of interest that the judges in a traffic court are paid directly out of the fines and fees collected by the court that the judges preside over.
I didn't know that. I was aware that the speed cameras and red-light cameras that issue tickets keep between 50 and 70% of the fine, and they use the infraction as extortion.
As no court or cop had witnessed or reviewed the evidence.

I agree that sealt belt laws are stupid and just an excuse to pull people over, but just take a minute to think about that
