Texas is a super majority red state. The media try to paint Texas as "purple" because Beto, using millions of dollars of campaign donations from California, almost beat Ted Cruz for Senator in the year Cruz ran against Trump for President. Abbott won his last election by a 2 to 1 margin. Texas isn't going to turn blue any time soon.
