"While camping, Melchiors said she drank from a spring..."

Then she experienced a “gastrointestinal illness”.

The article says the water site is listed as potable and she used gravity fed filtration.

“I definitely have a literally bitter taste in my mouth right now,” Melchiors said.

Article also says the area was relatively filthy, even if the water was claimed to be drinkable. I think drinking it was her mistake. What effect would it have on the Indians cash flow if they admitted the water there was contaminated?

The Indians tested their own spring and found it was safe to drink.

The WEF are trying to keep people out of there because of what was uncovered recently. There's all kinds of caves with highly advanced stone carving with writing that looks like hieroglyphics but aren't.

Some drunk local tribesman has probably been washing his ass in the river.
Plus everyone for a hundred miles of that area is using septic tanks and cesspools. Leeching can cause bacteria to travel a lot farther than you might think
