I just can’t wrap my head around it. It’s like no matter how they try to sell it to me, I just don’t give a shit.
One of the early adopters I know swears by it: Explains to the group that it helps him with so many tasks. To me, the fact that he needs to micromanage so many little aspects of his life is indicative of much bigger problems.
Does it currently show any practical use to any of you?
Over the past month and a half my employer has been trying to force me out of my fully remote job.
I have adhd and asked for specific accommodations.
With Claude’s help and my knowledge of narcissistic behavior (the company of over 100 people is run by narcissists) I have manipulated the situation to my favor.
I now have emails from the VP openly disbelieving my disability and denying my request. I also have an email directly from the President, in the thread that I politely ask to file a complaint against the VP, in which he docked my pay because I “wasn’t working” even though I have receipts of trying to work and my manager assigning me work.
So with the help of AI I went from getting shit canned by shitty bosses to having direct evidence of discrimination and retaliation. I’m filing with the EEOC.
Should be over $1m in lawsuits by the time it’s over. I fully believe without AI I wouldn’t have been able to do this.
So for $20/month. I think it’s worth it, if you use it.
It will write the code for you. For example it will write a very boring program that will create a database for you and present it in a way that looks nice on the website and it'll write the HTML code for the website and all you have to do is upload it and you'll have a medium sophisticated website without having to spend hours and hours doing it yourself and looking for the minor typographical errors that you make that screw the whole thing up.
It's also great for writing the bullshit nonsense phrasing that you have to use to communicate with normies so they don't get upset when you tell them facts.
For example letters.
And now there is a great one called sono.com that will make music. That's actually entertaining. I have made a few songs in an instant that are now some of my favorites and I have them on my playlist.
There are good ones to make images so if you need images or sell things with images on them you can now have 100 images to chose from without having to go to an art nerd who will nerate you and charge you per image when they aren't even making what you wanted.
And happening now is ai that will create a whole video that expresses the information you want to convey in video on seconds so gen xers can be taught in the only way they know...though YouTube videos.
My dream video is a 2 minute one that shows that everything they think is bad about white people actually is Jews. Like how Columbus was funded by Jews and Jews killed the natives and grabbed some and enslaved them and then had Columbus locked up. Then a 15-second segment that shows Jews owned all the black slaves and all the black slave ships and all the black auction houses for slaves and Jews were the cause of slavery. Then how Jews started World one that killed millions of white non-jews and then how Jews started World War II that killed millions of white non-jews and I have a section in there about how Jews now run the United States of America and we're not occupied country. I'd have a section in there about how Jews are just flattening Gaza and they really don't care at all about the Palestinians and there's just doing it to steal the real estate like they've been doing for the past hundred years since Israel was formed in the 1940's. If I could put together a quick three or four minute video that showed those things in quick succinct forms that normies would watch I think we could re-educate millions of people with the truth in seconds.
I treat "AI" the exact same way I treated the post 2007 google search engine. Ask questions and get results based on algorithms. So prepare for "ai" to bombard you with advertisements and leftist propaganda in the foreseeable future.
Its changed over the years man. Not going to lie. When ChatGPT was just coming out, it gave some really good solutions to difficult problems. Like, it walked me though starting my own LLC, pushing a PPA with the USPTO, helped me invent a symbolic AI, saved 10,000 off a medical bill for wording emails in a proff manner, helped me become a FAR better programmer then I was (but if you do anything every day, then you will get better so...), wrote a script to combine skinned mesh at runtime and that crap was/is wizardry as far as i'm concerned. It depends on what your skills are and what your goals in life are. Like the grandma that owns an 5K mac book to check email and play digital jigsaw puzzles on, what good is that tech doing for her?
Here is why its fake and gay. The box doesn't invent. It regurgitates any input you toss at it to placate you to the best of its abilities. if you put in "i'm tired all the time and i think i got cancer..." then its going to kick out "well, you should see a doctor and you may have cancer..." There is no innovation with the box, its a fancy rubber duck - an inanimate object that you can bounce ideas off of. It predicts what comes next in the input sequence you give it and within its context window, will try to "solve" your problem, in other words, to shut you up.
So whats it good for? Some people respond very well to that type of introspective help, where the box/parrot restructures your words and pushes them back to you so that you could get a better understanding of your own ideas. It works very well to explain complex concepts/literature so that you may self educate. It helps translate very well - I need a list of lists that have a customer name and an owed cost for n number of companies in RUST/PHP/Python/C++. Web searching, some graphics work, those weird questions that are software specific like, "I have an animation in maya in the time editor, how do i push that to the time slider and mute the time editor so that i can make my adjustments there?"
Whats it bad for? IT FUCKS UP ALL THE TIME. DO NOT TRUST THE BOX. If you are not vetting its solutions or know what you are doing with complex tasks, then prepare to be fucked. "What? Didn't you say something about it helping to educate..." Yeah, just like the internet, dont trust what you fucking read. It can help you cover ground, but that doesnt mean those are good miles. I have gotten to the point where i use it less and less due to the constant mistakes. If you need 10 ideas for xyz topic, and you give it an example idea, guess what the first one it will spit back at you is?
For code, thus far, i think chatGPT is the winner, so far. That being said, running an LLM locally isnt that hard, and the home brew crap is catching up/caught up. It more of a question of what hardware you have access to. Longwinded response, so sorry for that. Hope this helps ya, i enjoy AI stuff/"hacking" thing together stuff - so this is fun for me. Thats just what I know, obviously, some people use local LLM's for trade bots and i have Nooooo idea about that crap. Its a rabbit hole, keep on going down and you'll hit the warren. HH and gas the kikes.
It's good for fluffing up emails to send out to the plebs to feel like you care about them instead of explaining things in a concise and short statement that lacks any sort of HR demanded soft edges.
I love the way you explain this. It's so true. You have to put so much bullshit in there because so many people are so easily offended by facts you have to couch things in stupid terms because people are just so easily offended.
You also gotta phrase shit in a way retards won't misinterpret your instructions and suddenly make you responsible for a billion fuckups because Dawquon in Accounting thought he could buy fried chicken for the peasants that HR wont hire because we've met the diversity quota already.
You may see benefit using it as a search tool that understands what you are really looking for; conceptually, or metaphorically, or by reference. Rather than by key words like Google.
Also it can filter down the information to more useful understandable key parts.
And organize what it finds as you tell it to.
And you can give it about a page of inform to search through.
So how valuable that is to you depends on how much valuable information you are exposed to. The general information it has may be a year old, so you have to ask it, how old is data is.
There's no reason to give a shit about it, it's kind of like giving a shit about Google.
How can it be valuable? If there is something you know how to create, but you do not have the time or energy to create it, it can make the effort achievable.
You could ask what would make a good cheap easy to make meal from this list of food. Or what types of wood are best to build X with.
Someone mentioned summarizing emails or documents. If I write someone an email, they ought to read it. If I need to study a document, I will read the document. So right now, it poses a moral issue. And laziness,
