my 14 y.o. son has asthma, and for the past 4 yrs or so hasn't really needed that much medication. He would take Symbicort only as necessary, like one or two times a month. Just within the past month or two, his asthma has really gotten a lot worse. He has been taking the Symbicort once a day, and even then needs to use the albuterol inhaler two or three times a day. Doctor is useless, and wants to put him on more, stronger medication (like steroids and other stuff I don't even know what it is). Anyone here have any experience with other options? What possibilities are there other than going down the pharma rabbit-hole? Many thanks!
I use Advir. It’s a old drug but it works great. I haven’t had any problems since about 25 years. Lot of the docs get kick backs to prescribing the new and great drug.
Pretty sure it is a cost-cutting powder reformulation of whatever steroidal thing that Proventil provided before it, but those inhalers lasted for a long time, and the Advair diskus thing lasts a month at most, thus improving profits or something. That's my take, at least. But it does kind of help significantly, so yeah.
There is 60 capsules in the disk, so yeah they last a month. Proventil is a brand of a drug that is only a rescue inhaler. Advir is a long term control drug. There are actually two drugs in it, the steroid to relieve inflammation and a drug to relax bronchial tubes. You have to take it at the same time every day. Once it gets you under control, you can stop it to once a day. It works. I would say that drug completely changed my life.
The more I read, the more evident it is that most, if not all diseases are from the lack of or overdose of vitamins and minerals.
I’d like to ask if your child is receiving a quality multivitamin. Magnesium? Iodine? Regular Exposure to sunlight? Exercise? The lymph system circulates using muscle movement as it has no central pump.
Not to mention removing all sources of inflammation such as seed oils. An elimination diet is the best way to figure out which foods afflict us.
Inhalers contain halogens. So the inhaler may be exposing him to bromine. Bromine and fluorine displace iodine in the body. Is he by chance being exposed to the insides of a couch or mattress? Flame retardants expose us to high levels of bromine. Perhaps he is being exposed to some sort of industrial material? Asbestos in the attic? Fiber glass insulation? Paint used to contain lead. Now it contains bromine.
Shit, shit, shit 14 is a pinch for smoking for sure but tinctures might just works. Research Mullein. I smoke it daily as a corrective that works. Not some stoner shit stain calling pot medicine. My past smoked 37yrs+ and this natural has been most welcome for my COPD. I know smoking helps but the age is a set up for disaster. Herb/plant tinctures work crazy good with my working experience some 3 decades. You can make tinctures at home if mullein is local brew with vodka or evoo in 5-8 weeks for dosing
Mullein is that adorable plant in it’s first year. An invasive species from the UK, it is a fairly common weed in the US. Notable for being soft and fluffy. Ugly as all heck during it’s second year when it turns into a tower.
I’ve seen and heard of it’s usage as an herbal remedy for numerous things.
When planted by hand they are actually pretty cool for filling in foliage gaps between sheds and garages type thing. Only 2nd year plants go to sèed with large cones of yellow flowers. The entire plant has uses that are surprisingly high for a botanical. Some folks don't respond to them. It can't help stupid
I nearly died from an asthma attack at age 13. It was the scariest shit I ever experienced. I was on an inhaler earlier in my life but the asthma seemed to have cleared up until a few years later. After the near-fatal attack, my asthma started to "go away" steadily over the next few years. By age 17, it seemed to have gone away completely. Years later, as an adult, it started coming back but nearly as bad as it was. I use Albuterol now when it rears its ugly head.
Encourage your son to maintain a healthy weight, as obesity can exacerbate asthma symptoms.
Help him establish a regular exercise routine, such as swimming or cycling, which can improve lung function and overall health.
Ensure he avoids exposure to environmental triggers like pollen, dust, and pet dander.
Encourage him to manage stress through relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing, yoga, or meditation.
Dietary Changes:
A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein can help improve lung function and overall health.
Consider introducing anti-inflammatory foods like omega-3 fatty acids (found in fish, nuts, and seeds), turmeric, and ginger into his diet.
Avoid processed foods, sugar, and dairy products, as they can exacerbate inflammation.
Supplements:
Certain supplements like vitamin D, magnesium, and probiotics may help alleviate asthma symptoms. Consult with a healthcare professional before adding any supplements to his treatment plan.
Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM):
These alternative therapies may help reduce inflammation and improve lung function. However, consult with a licensed acupuncturist or TCM practitioner to ensure their techniques are safe and effective for your son's condition.
Nebulizers and Inhalers:
If your son's symptoms persist, consider using a nebulizer to deliver medication directly to the lungs. This may be more effective than relying on inhalers for respiratory symptoms.
Yeah they only know how to give moar symbicort and albuterol, then montelukast. Try to tell him to be less of a phonefaggot. But i guess, this is too much to ask.

I have no advice just an anecdote: I went to the doctor once, admitted I was a smoker and complained about my consistent cough and the doc (didn't do any tests) said I had asthma and prescribed me an inhaler. Didn't even suggest quitting to me 🫠.
I haven't had a prescription for over 15 years though and I don't advise that but if you learn management techniques and behaviors you can get by.
First, the non steroidal options I have used that worked for an adult and should be cautioned for supplementing the doctor's prescription. Whiskey, higher alcohol and high tannin content, and "fisherman's friend" "cough drops" highest menthol content on the market by a factor of 10, menthol is from mint and it helps open your airways. As an adult you need another solution if it takes two shots of whiskey a day to treat your asthma and this isn't a suitable solution for minors drinking too much will depress your breathing, as to the "fisherman's friend I have one a day at most and I split it into 4 with a pill cutter and take after a meal or as needed, the menthol and spices are so strong they will damage your airway and throat if you take too much.
Beyond immediate relief the solution for me was getting into cardio fitness and avoiding allergens, your kid seems to have developed a new allergy or has fallen into bad shape or the air quality in the area has deteriorated. Your due diligence here is to keep notes to discover the source or sources. Get air quality reports from weather apps and track that against his bad days; buy a good air filter and do your research on it at least for his spaces, no smoking in the house, no flowers inside, close his windows completely, change his bed sheets, vacuum his room, get a carbon monoxide detector, be careful with certain stinky foods like burning yeast or spices or microwaving fish, ask the boy if sitting on grass makes him itch, if the answer is yes he has a grass allergy no more mowing the lawn for him and keep him indoors when neighbors mow. You can get an allergy test from a doctor but try to resolve this yourselves if you can't figure it out between food and exposure then you need a test and you might need a mold test, i don't know him he may just need to shower more or change deodorants, it could be an issue with dairy producing too much mucous and inflaming his inflamed lungs further it could be he has become allergic to the pine wood and his whole bedroom set is made of it. He might have a heat allergy or have an enzymatic issue in his gut.
Supplements I can suggest, garlic, vitamin D, cayenne capsules, quercitin and bromelain together an hour and a half after a meal if you are going to use suppments you can not be safe without thoroughly doing your own research dont listen to hacks here telling you to take shitloads of stuff like niacin which are easy to OD on. A single zyrtec a day is pretty damned safe for me but i don't mix it with booze and i don't know dick about symbicort i know albuterol is actually a corticosteroid and it has consequences doctors didn't tell me, brush your teeth and swish after taking any puffer the steroids in them work to empower the bacteria and such in your mouth, you can get thrush, strep throat and fuck up your gut flora and impulse control if you don't brush and swish.
He might just have shit longs and need a nebulizer at home if he is taking puffers so much a home nebulizer might be cheaper.
This could take years to change because it could take years to figure out.
My instinct is that it's tree pollen season and his pollen allergy is exacerbating his asthma, buy an indoor bike or treadmill and get him to use it everyday he has been in good health for two days and hasn't exercised in that same period, cardio vascular health is one side of the coin here for oxygen efficiency the other side is pulmonary, don't stress stressed lungs, they aren't like muscles give them rest as long as they need it but be diligent to work them whenever they don't need rest, the best easy low effort way to exercise your lungs is to sing frequently, singing while driving is probably the single most important thing for my pulmonary health, but expect your kid not to sing around people, I've lost my mind at this point I'll sing whenever and where ever but I didn't start out this way. Get him driving early so he can sing while driving to and from school, I like tom waits and crooners
A bad doc will pump you full of shit a good doc wont give you more than you need, watch for signs of caution from a doctor to know if they are shit or not.
I'm not your doc, I'm unreliable for quick comment but if you can't find a good answer on your own, ask and I'll try to get back to you.
Thanks. An air purifier is a good idea. It has been pollen crazy here for a while so I bet that is exacerbating the issue. Don't think we'll go the whiskey route, but I might pick up some fisherman friend on the way home tonight and see if that helps.
I have some advice but you won't take it because the jew has captured your mind.
ALWAYS start out with high dose vitamin C. The human body needs it to fuel all kinds of things and you can't really tell what is truly problematic without first giving it that fuel.
I'd start out with 4000mg of ascorbic acid taken in 1000mg pills throughout the day. Don't get anything but ascorbic acid with the pills--no other ingredients. Some dumb fuck companies like to mix other shit in with their pills but you want only ascorbic acid--aside from the fillers and binders bullshit--no other active ingredients.
Slowly increase the vitamin C up to 20,000mg a day or until diarrhea starts to happen.
After a few months, if the problem persists then do something else as well. If the problem goes away you know it's because his body needed the vitamin C for the immune system to work properly and probably for tons of other shit too.
High dose vitamin C was observed to work for many things by the father of modern chemistry Linus Pauling who won a sole nobel prize for bringing chemistry into the modern age. The jews slandered his name because "this one simple trick" truly would fuck over may over their poisons and absurd career positions. You don't need a ton of heart doctors if "high dose" vitamin C literally cures atherosclerosis--which it does. I used quotes because it really should be called appropriate levels of vitamin C.
My dad was a high dose vitamin C guy. My son eats pretty well, and we do take a multivitamin plus an additional C. Not sure the dose, but I'll look into it.
It's literally evolution. The vast majority of animals make vitamin C endogenously. Humans and a few others don't. Out of all the animals, the only ones to get atherosclerosis are the ones that don't make it endogenously. That's not coincidence.
Our ancestors ate a shit ton of vitamin C in their diet. I mean a shit ton. We evolved to do the same thing. Fucking goats make more than any other animal. That's why they can damn near eat anything and never get sick.
Anyhow, it's very fundamental to our health.
I bet your dad, even though he was a "high dose vitamin C guy" probably only took 500mgs or something considered high but not really high. "High" would be a minimum of 4000mg but it's not really high. Really high would be 50,000mg+ a day in my book. I've actually done that if I get a cold. I'll take 2000mg an hour and never get diarrhea. You should get diarrhea with that amount but when sick you don't. It's amazing. It doesn't do what people think though and at most improves a cold, etc. 5% a day. Still that's a ton especially for the elderly. It can mean the difference between life and death. 10 days and that's a 50% improvement.
Sure goats, etc. get sick and die by the way. I'm not saying that at all. It's just it's a kind of fuel for your immune system.
It doesn't do a ton for bacterial infections and I'm in no way against antibiotics. I just think it helps a TON. If you ever have someone that gets sepsis, they should be doing intravenous vitamin C. Same with elderly folks with pneumonia.
There were a few hospital systems about a decade ago that had incredible results with intravenous vitamin C for sepsis. People were walking out of there that had no business being alive. The group of doctors decided to participate in a study to PROVE it. The study failed and there was no difference between the control group and the intravenous vitamin C group. Clearly vitamin C is useless right because a double blind study with a control group is the thing to use to confirm it right? Pharma guys were right all along.
Well it turns out those fuckers only administered the intravenous vitamin C to sepsis patients that were nearly dead. The hospitals had been FUCKING LOGICALLY administering it as soon as the sepsis diagnosis was made. Obviously you're not going to do fuck all when someone is about to die with vitamin C. The study knew that shit and purposely designed it for failure. This is how a TON of studies fail if big pharma wants them to fail. A proper study involves far more than just double blind scenarios with a control group BUT that's how they trick you. They lead you to believe that is all that matters when it's so much more than that. Fucking scum.

Lots of great advice in this thread and I recommend cold-pressed, unfiltered Blackseed oil (Nigella Sativa). It's a variety of cumin and shares their characteristic flavor.
Response time is usually within a few minutes and is highly effective. Had a guest leave our home after taking a spoonful once only to get a call from her at the end of the driveway, letting us know it had taken effect.
I've actually used it to halt anaphylactic reactions. When sourced properly, it's that potent.
Sweet Sunnah brand has been excellent every time I've used it, though I haven't ordered from them in a few years.
1. No more vaccines 2. I had asthma flare up out of nowhere and my room had a luggage full of mold. Clean the room he sleeps in top to bottom and make sure there isn’t any mold. 3. Set him up to sleep in another room for a couple of days to cross out mold 4. Get an air purifier and oxidiser
I grew up very asthmatic and my mother is still very asthmatic. Now I'm a two pack a day pallmall red smoker but I breath clear and easy. She takes the poison meds. My advice is, when he has an asthma attack scratch his back until it's red and inflamed. Honestly it's far better than the meds.

2. I had asthma flare up out of nowhere and my room had a luggage full of mold. Clean the room he sleeps in top to bottom and make sure there isn’t any mold.
3. Set him up to sleep in another room for a couple of days to cross out mold
4. Get an air purifier and oxidiser

Now I'm a two pack a day pallmall red smoker but I breath clear and easy.
She takes the poison meds.
My advice is, when he has an asthma attack scratch his back until it's red and inflamed. Honestly it's far better than the meds.
