Right here on the west coast, upwind of everything. Usually. You're gonna get it if you're inland.

You think people in rural areas will be willing to share their resources with a buncha fuckin yankee cowards??? Won't ever happen. Yankees would be safer in the inner cities with niggers. Bad shit awaits them all in rural areas in the event of an apocalypse or WW3.

[ - ] MaryXmas 0 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 19:38:18 ago (+0/-0)

Souix falls Iowa. Actually not joking. An actual nuke is maybe 20 miles? So every major city is on the list. But only maybe 3 are real targets. Americans would also encourage the falling of all 3 major cities... If there were a state side war, then Nebraska would look real appealing.

[ - ] RedBarchetta 0 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 20:27:02 ago (+0/-0)

It'll never happen. EMP's yes.

Whats everyones plan on the nuclear winter?

Anyone think there may be a lack of oxegen after all the plants die out from lack of sun? ~12,000 nukes is a unimaginable. 5000 each from russia and america.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 00:05:27 ago (+0/-0)

IIRC there was some study on this. Eugene Oregon, oddly enough, would avoid 99% of radiation in the winds.

[ - ] ItsOk2bArian 0 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 04:41:32 ago (+0/-0)

I'm counting on Big Island Hawaii being fairly insulated from any major catastrophe. If anarchy breaks out, only the small population of violently ignorant local savages would be a problem and they should be relatively easy to deal with so long as my people don't run into any large mobs

[ - ] rabidR04CH 0 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 07:24:30 ago (+0/-0)

Nuclear fallout means that no area is safe. The best case scenario would be for you to be in the blast radius so that you die immediately. Otherwise, you're going to be breathing in radioactive dust which will slowly kill you in a much more painful process. If you think you can survive that, you should at least study wind currents and stay away from major pockets.

underground.

[ - ] Sleazy 1 point 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 18:56:15 ago (+1/-0)

Montana or North Dakota are probably not targets

[ - ] Nosferatjew 7 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 19:55:02 ago (+7/-0)

They're actually big time targets, because that's where a lot of nuclear silos are located. It is not safe to assume that only cities will be hit, you have to consider military targets, and if we're talking about global nuke war, those silos are going to be higher on the list than the cities.

This map of US nuclear silos shows the highest denisty of silos to be in Montana, North Dakota, and a bit north of Denver:

[ - ] Jimmycrackerson 2 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 23:37:46 ago (+2/-0)*

They would also probably target the fuck out of the Yellowstone Caldera.

Along with the San Andreas and Wasatch fault lines.

[ - ] Nosferatjew 2 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 23:45:38 ago (+2/-0)

Targeting the Yellowstone Caldera could be bad. Not just for the US though. If that fucker went off for real, the entire northern hemisphere would be fucked. I'm talking extinction level event shit. It would take one helluva nuke to pull it off though. Some kind of bunker-buster mega nuke, or something.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 00:07:16 ago (+0/-0)

Some kind of bunker-buster mega nuke, or something.

They have those, in MIRV platforms, in abundance.

[ - ] Sleazy 1 point 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 20:15:31 ago (+1/-0)

Well damn, I didnt even consider that. I was just guessing and assuming based on the small populations there

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 1 point 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 21:52:45 ago (+1/-0)

Any kind of Airforce base or military installation is likely going to be a target. I wouldn't want to live in those areas.

@con77 how close is Clearwater to MacDill AFB? How well do you think they would survive such an attack?

[ - ] Panic 1 point 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 03:41:36 ago (+1/-0)

McDill IS Tampa. Uh oh.

[ - ] con77 0 points 11 monthsJun 24, 2024 16:22:26 ago (+0/-0)

About 20 miles. Out of blast of radius but not danger.
Macdill is SOCOM and in charge of Special Forces.
Definitely a target

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 0 points 11 monthsJun 24, 2024 21:42:04 ago (+0/-0)

If the (((news))) is to be trusted, Russia is alleged to have a good relationship with Mexico.

As things escalate (like the US-supplied ATACMS missles), it makes one wonder what kind of military equipment Russia may have stored somewhere in Mexico...

[ - ] foxtrot45 1 point 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 21:54:27 ago (+1/-0)

Im thinking underground, with a farm bot and led lighting that puts out uv. My guess is the farthest north (like Alaska) or south (like south america) the better.

west virginia. far enough from DC plenty of caves.

The fact we are having this conversation is f..king scary.

[ - ] Trope 2 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 21:57:59 ago (+2/-0)

Wow, what a remarkable time to load up on iodine.

Cancer screenings that rely on radioactive iodine do not work when you have sufficient/saturated iodine in the tissues. Interesting that the test relies on the insufficiency of iodine by the public.

[ - ] PORTforceOne 2 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 23:29:43 ago (+2/-0)

Oregon, Utah, Alaska rural of course, are some of the best.

Montana, California, Texas probably the worst.

Basement will save your life, don't stare at explosion obviously. Don't go out in the rain, or really any weather system.

[ - ] albatrosv15 2 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 23:39:28 ago (+4/-2)

Let's assume nukes are fake and gay.
Oh wait, we don't have to assume it. Nukes ARE fake and gay.

Just look at wind patterns. Easy to study by watching radar feeds and satelite based cloud cover feeds. Regardless, the nuclear fallout from a nuclear weapon detonation doesn't last very long. It's not like a reactor meltdown, where the radiation can stick around for years/decades. The radiation from a nuclear bomb, on the other hand, is mostly gone in a few weeks, and almost entirely gone after a couple months.

[ - ] foxtrot45 0 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 21:51:16 ago (+0/-0)*

Well maybe, ive read if you put cobalt around the sphere it turns into a diffrent kind of radiation that will be deadly for a thousand years. The half lifes are incredabaly long, and these would most likey be used over over farmland, drinking water resivors (great lakes?) and pherhaps some strategic areas with natraul recouces like iron, coal deposits. Russia or someone claims they can launch a torpedo with this cobalt on it that will create a tusami that can go far inland leaving that type of radiation behind. I should spend a day or two and relearn all this.
edit: a quick search says around a 100 not a 1000 years, cobalt 60 half life of 5 years.

[ - ] Sector2 2 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 22:19:08 ago (+2/-0)

Yes, the Poseidon torpedo nuke. Claimed to generate a radioactive wave 500 meters high. You wouldn't want to be living in Florida.

Damn! We'll lose @con77 !

Dang, we'll have to vote twice as hard.

[ - ] paul_neri 0 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 06:07:01 ago (+0/-0)

That's comforting to know.

[ - ] Not_C 3 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 00:10:19 ago (+3/-0)

To over-exaggerate things -
The safest place would be Northern Alaska.

But you have to understand that they won't necessarily target major cities.
They'll target large ports (Which major cities have developed around) But they won't be targeting the city or its population. They'll be targeting the port.

They'll be targeting infrastructure, not people.
And military bases. And missile silos.

[ - ] paul_neri 2 points 12 monthsJun 23, 2024 06:10:40 ago (+2/-0)

"they won't be targeting the city or its population" - no offense, bro, but on such an occasion I would prefer not to test your theory.

[ - ] Fascinus 4 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 19:18:25 ago (+5/-1)

[ - ] Sunman_Omega 6 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 19:50:56 ago (+6/-0)

The good thing about being nuked, is that major cities will be targeted and who are the primary occupants of the cities? Jews, niggers, pajeets, beaners, muslims, slants, progressives... all of the trash.

[ - ] Belfuro 3 points 12 monthsJun 22, 2024 23:15:23 ago (+3/-0)

A basement can save your life.

Not going out into falling radioactive debris and rain etc will save your life.
