I don't have mayo or paprika... A couple of those right now would be perfect though.

[ - ] germ22 0 points 10 monthsJun 25, 2024 23:10:25 ago (+0/-0)

take 8 eggs, ad a little sugar for taste, some flour for texture... a little jelly and roll it up. Jelly Roll :)

I know this is off topic but since it did mention mayo I have to get on my soap box. Did y'all know that EVERY major brand of mayonnaise and almost every lesser brand of mayonnaise starts with the ingredient SOYBEAN OIL. EVERY.SINGLE.ONE! I challenge you to find a brand of mayo that doesn't have soybean oil in it. I started this journey in an attempt to get healthier and to cut soy in any form out of my diet as well as any artificial garbage out of the food I eat. It hasn't been easy or cheap by any means. The only mayo I found that doesn't have soy in it or anything else bad for you is Sir Wellington (I think that's the name). Small jars for about $14. I don't use mayonnaise all that often but when you want it for a sandwich, nothing else will do! And it's not limited to mayonnaise. Try and find any food that doesn't have soy in some fashion. Almost impossible. I eat a lot of hummus and used to eat Ritz crackers with it. If you like Ritz crackers and can't live without them, don't look at the ingredients! OTHER than soy there's a list of garbage in Ritz crackers that will make your dick go limp! Just a mix of the worst ingredients including "artificial flavoring" which can be almost anything but is most often MSG. The only cracker I found to eat with hummus that didn't include garbage ingredients was plain old Triscuit with sea salt. Once you start reading ingredient labels and see what the gubmint is allowing them to put in your food you'll never eat the same. And you'll also know how little the government cares about you!

We started making our own. Very easy with an immersion blender. Eggs should not be really cold but it's literally put an egg in a container and drizzle in one cup oil (your choice) while blending, add a splash of lemon juice or vinegar and whatever spices you like.
Ours seems to be a lot runnier than the store (maybe I just need less oil) but the flavor is very good and I actually prefer it for potato salads and that kind of stuff. It seems to only keep for 1-2 weeks in the fridge.
I do miss Hellmann's but not worth feeding myself and my family that crap.

[ - ] WhiteCollarCriminal 1 point 10 monthsJun 27, 2024 00:10:28 ago (+1/-0)

That's the damn truth! I suppose if it were just the soy it would be okay for the gals but it's so much more than that. I agree about the Hellmans but I haven't eaten it in a couple years and really don't miss it. Thanks for that great recipe I can't wait to try it! (Print it and ask Kristen to make it 🤣)

[ - ] Wahaha 4 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 05:26:13 ago (+4/-0)

Nevermind that particular type, there's barely any food out there that doesn't contain some form of plant oil.

[ - ] observation1 3 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 01:10:19 ago (+3/-0)*

Exactly right. $12 for a small jar of real mayonnaise where I live, too. Impossible to find. It's something the household no longer carries. (Why eat bread, anyway?)

As far as soy being in everything else and now being the main ingredient?

It's called soyflation.

instead of ritz - bake a whole chicken. Pull strips of chicken off. Dip white meat and dark meat chicken strips into hummas or avocado dip. Lasts 5 days.

Making it at home is hardly an option. EVOO prices have skyrocketed.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 2 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 01:06:19 ago (+2/-0)

I’ve been reading labels for decades. I too am on the no soybean oil trip. I’ve used Sir .kensingtons mayo, since I too only need it about twice a year. The avocado typed aren’t that great, but better than the soy. As for hummus and crackers, try some kind of pita chip or something. It’s more fitting and they are usually made with better ingredients. I do love me some tri suits though!
I read all labels, even at Trader Joe’s. Do you have Trader Joe’s? Even they have maltodextrin dextrin and modified food starch, which I also won’t consume it’s tough out there.
Wife made some stuffed peppers tonight with 96% lean ground beef that was $13 a pound. I have no time for chap food products

[ - ] WhiteCollarCriminal 1 point 10 monthsJun 27, 2024 00:19:16 ago (+1/-0)

That's it! Sir Kensington's! I was close! I'll have to try the pita chips. I just can't stand putting garbage in anymore. I'm not a health nut but it seems they're going out of their way to feed the population the worst possible foods. And my understanding is that soy is the worst thing a guy can put in his body. I have no intention of growing tits at my age because they want to substitute soy for everything! 🤣 fuck that!

[ - ] WhiteCollarCriminal 1 point 10 monthsJun 27, 2024 00:20:44 ago (+1/-0)

I'm glad you mentioned that about the avocado mayo as I was going to try it but it's crazy priced as well.

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 10 monthsJun 27, 2024 11:33:23 ago (+0/-0)

It’s kinda different. Not bad though.

[ - ] Ragnar 1 point 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 09:24:29 ago (+1/-0)

Everyone knows this, bro. Where’ve you beeb living the past two decades?
Sir wellington is not any better, FYI. It has other seed oils just as harmful.

[ - ] Stonkmar 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 10:00:13 ago (+0/-0)

Soy is next on my list; but recently I've been looking/avoiding any phosphates, which also is tough. Phosphates take Ritz off my list.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 10:50:57 ago (+0/-0)

I've switched from mayo to sour cream.

[ - ] Clubberlang 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 10:56:50 ago (+0/-0)

I ordered this Amazon book and you should too!

And you'll also know how little the government cares about you!

They waive the Ukraine flag instead of our own.

They move the US flag to the side to fly the pedorainbow jihad flag.

What more evidence do you need that your the slaves of yids?

[ - ] TheNoticing 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 12:23:09 ago (+0/-0)

Eat ze bugs goyim!

[ - ] oyy_veyy_goyy 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 14:28:33 ago (+0/-0)

There's a brand with a very jewy name called Chosen Foods that claims to not have soybean oil or the other types of sketchy oils in their mayo. They use avocado oil instead. https://chosenfoods.com/products/classic-avocado-oil-mayo-32oz-bpa-free-pet

The website price is retarded. Costco sells them for less than half of that. Bought it a couple of times, and it tastes pretty decent. It doesn't have that fake and gay taste that the regular goyslop version has.

mix yolk with mayo

That's like mixing cholocate with chocolate milk

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 09:37:08 ago (+0/-0)

Try devilled eggs and come back to us

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 10:21:10 ago (+0/-0)

I make them myself. I don't bother to add mayo because mashing up the yolk with a bit of oil makes mayo...

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 10 monthsJun 27, 2024 09:53:16 ago (+0/-0)

Only if the yolk is raw. You are doing it wrong

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 10 monthsJun 27, 2024 10:40:20 ago (+0/-0)

nope. also use sriracha instead of mustard.

My wife does a little dill relish in the deviled eggs. Fucking delicious!

[ - ] Stonkmar 2 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 09:58:44 ago (+2/-0)

My wife throws a pinch of Old Bay on there. Shit's awesome

[ - ] TheOriginal1Icemonkey [op] 0 points 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 22:32:44 ago (+0/-0)

Mmm, dill.
Never sweet.

[ - ] Ragnar 1 point 10 monthsJun 26, 2024 09:39:03 ago (+1/-0)

Although I would say this made me think more about the hyper-palatability argument
