Anyone else having a heat wave today? What's it like in your area?

submitted by Sector2 to Weather 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 15:31:24 ago (+10/-1)     (Weather)

I'd literally be sweating if I were out in the sun. And tonight it's only going down to 55.

2 PM 75° RealFeel® 84° hi

5 AM 55° RealFeel® 56° lo

We're suffering too, but slightly trolling because I know some of you live in horrific places. Double Plus bad if you have horrible weather AND niggers.

pretty alright today. Breeze out, air conditioners off. As God intended.

Air conditioner salesmen drive beaters here, but that sounds nice. Hope you got those peppers and tomatoes going.

I should check in with my son before the hurricane and the shark-filled storm surge hits.

"SharkNado" Inbound!

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 15:57:57 ago (+1/-0)

That one woman was really turning the water red after the shark chewed on her leg. They kept cruising in the shallows after that too.

[ - ] xmasskull 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 16:51:32 ago (+1/-0)

Staying where the "food"is.

[ - ] Not_a_redfugee 4 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 15:34:47 ago (+4/-0)

93 degrees. Nice moderate summer day. Might take the boat out.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 0 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 15:49:28 ago (+0/-0)

Fishing or cruising?

[ - ] Not_a_redfugee 2 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:34:02 ago (+2/-0)

Cruising mainly. I like driving the boat around more than fishing lol. Its an aluminum bass tracker with a 60 horse mercury

[ - ] Rowdybme 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:22:27 ago (+1/-0)

That seems like a nice fishing boat to me. I have a skeeter bass boat with a 225 Yamaha. Too hot to fucking fish now.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 0 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:00:35 ago (+0/-0)

https://www.trackerboats.com/bass.html

I can see how that could be tolerable. o/

Currently 92°. High of 93°. It says 61% humidity but that's bogus; I was just outside cutting landscape timbers and it's wretched.

[ - ] FreeinTX 3 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 16:52:24 ago (+3/-0)

What is RealFeel?

Sounds like a way to manipulate average temps.

Here it's cooler than usual because there is a hurricane nearby.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:02:38 ago (+1/-0)

I think RealFeel is a combo of temp and humidity. So the thermometer might say 71F, but it feels like it's 80 degrees.

Hotter here, because we're not getting the normal offshore breeze. Ocean itself is around 53F, so that 'conditions' our air. Inland people are baking.

[ - ] recon_johnny 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 20:28:14 ago (+1/-0)

Believe wind has a part in it as well.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:14:25 ago (+1/-0)

Temperature and dew point are the two magic numbers to understand how nice or shit the weather is.

95F with a dew point of 10F (Simi Valley) is miles more pleasant than 95F and 75F dew point (Georgia).

[ - ] FreeinTX 0 points 11 monthsJul 7, 2024 07:46:56 ago (+0/-0)

So, yes, it's a subjective way to manipulate the temperature to push global warming even though the actual numbers show to be relatively normal.

A "feels like" temperature isn't actually a thing.

The last few years our summers in northern Ontario have been rather disappointing. It's been probably 10 years since i felt the need to turn on my AC. 20C 71F today. Non of my cars have working AC, i don't see the point spending money on somethin i might only use a hand full of times a year.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:05:40 ago (+1/-0)

Summer (June – August)
Though many assume our region experiences cold weather year-round, Northeastern Ontario enjoys an average summer temperature of 24ºc (75.2 º F), which is the perfect weather to enjoy activities like paddling, hiking, fishing, boating and motorcycling.

Sounds pleasant. Good to be up out of the oven zone.

[ - ] germ22 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:11:27 ago (+1/-0)

Seems like we have been getting a lot more below average temperatures the last few years. I should move to Costa Rica or somewhere else warm. -40 in winter is no fun anymore.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:26:23 ago (+1/-0)

It's been getting cooler on the California coast. We used to have 5-10 days in January at 70F or above. Last few years it's finally dropped to 1 or 0.

Only reached -20 in Pennsylvania, but I was done with that nonsense. Fun as a kid, but it gets old.

[ - ] MasklessTheGreat 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:45:17 ago (+1/-0)

Satan himself came up from hell and farted pure fire on my area. Hopefully that tell you how hot it is.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 4 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:48:11 ago (+4/-0)

Summer in Florida, ho-hum. Somehow 25 million people live here.

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 3 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:08:47 ago (+3/-0)

It's not even that hot today. Just walked two miles home from work. Seems like it was hotter last year around this time. The humidity is still a cunt though, fuckin bitch is relentless.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:12:28 ago (+1/-0)

It was hotter last year. Today it was 86 at noon, my farts are 3x hotter than that.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:15:10 ago (+1/-0)

What's your dew point? This 75F shit is getting old.

[ - ] Ragnar 1 point 11 monthsJul 7, 2024 00:22:01 ago (+1/-0)

It was hotter last year, but it’s going to get scorching next week

[ - ] CoronaHoax 2 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 22:02:19 ago (+2/-0)

Yup in Florida on the beach today.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 11 monthsJul 7, 2024 07:53:54 ago (+1/-0)

It was 88 f yesterday, and the Weather Channel screams 'HEAT ADVISORY!!' lol

[ - ] CoronaHoax 0 points 11 monthsJul 7, 2024 10:45:23 ago (+0/-0)

That’s cool for Florida lol. Shows it’s all owned by foreigners.

[ - ] Love240 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 17:56:08 ago (+1/-0)

It's only 111°F out right now. 114°F by 4 PM.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 0 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:06:37 ago (+0/-0)

If you had a big insulated water tank, you could store that heat for the winter. That's pretty hot. Happens in inland California too, in places called Death Valley, and Furnace Creek.🔥

[ - ] fnbs 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:11:29 ago (+1/-0)

103f here in the Pac. NW

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:54:13 ago (+1/-0)

Oh right, it's peak winter in Aussie land. Just wait 6 months and it'll all average out.

[ - ] Sleazy 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:38:45 ago (+1/-0)

It's a beautiful day, 73 degrees and partly cloudy with a slight breeze

[ - ] __47__ 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 18:44:44 ago (+1/-0)

Bout 91 and humid here. Horrible outside.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:10:38 ago (+1/-0)

Hell's Front Porch

Some like 75F dew points for months...just means yardwork is done in the dark.

[ - ] Rowdybme 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 19:20:51 ago (+1/-0)

Actually been cooler than normal here in north Texas.

[ - ] recon_johnny 1 point 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 20:32:08 ago (+1/-0)

Lows: Mid to upper 60’s

Highs: Mid to upper 90’s

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 0 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 21:33:12 ago (+0/-0)

Nice lows. That high is getting a little toasty.

[ - ] Crackinjokes 3 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 21:22:43 ago (+3/-0)

95 to 100 is easily tolerable with a breeze or a fan.

The problem is if you sit in air conditioning and then go out you body doesn't acclimate.

[ - ] Sector2 [op] 0 points 11 monthsJul 6, 2024 21:32:29 ago (+0/-0)

68-72F and sun is pretty ideal. Most of my plants would prefer another 10 to 15 degrees though.

I hated living in those temps. 95F and 98% humidity. Ugh. Walk outside and be drenched in sweat at 8am.

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens 1 point 11 monthsJul 7, 2024 00:36:56 ago (+1/-0)

In NYC, it's hotter than Jews in a German pizzeria.

[ - ] DestroyerofSquirrels 1 point 11 monthsJul 7, 2024 04:35:43 ago (+1/-0)

110 today I think. But that's just AZ lol
