I'm currently at a local bar watching boomer fucks try their best at karaoke of some of their favorite songs & they're all completely out of key & a total cringe fests. I can't believe the confidence boomer guys have - acting like their shit doesn't stink while hitting on ladies after butchering songs and doing their own versions of songs.
Let me tell you the secret to karaoke that boomers know that apparently you don't. You don't have to be good. As a matter of fact no one watching really gives a damn whether you're good or not. The only people who covet about people not being good or people who are too nervous to get up and sing themselves and they wonder how other people have the balls to get up and sing when they're no good.
Here's my advice to you. Get up and sing and stop thinking it's about you.
It's not about you. None of the people who are going to hear you murder the song are going to care about it 5 seconds after you sit back down. It's about getting up and having fun.
And as to why the ladies like it it's because ladies like a man who take chances and aren't afraid.
Lastly I'll just say none of the popular singers today are actually good singers. Some of the most popular singers in the world have been terrible singers. It's not about hitting the key or making the song sound perfect. It's about expressing the emotion of the song and making the audience feel your emotion. And you can do that with the worst voice in the world. Bob Dylan did it and he had the worst voice in the world. Many of the good singers have terrible voices but they make you feel an emotion. And almost every single singer today has a really bad voice that is live corrected with auto-tune as they sing live in a concert.
So you worrying about people standing up in a bar sounded good or not completely misses the point. They sound probably just as good as most of the pop stars today you need to stop worrying about it and start getting up and singing and not caring whether you're good or not because nobody else does either. Just have fun and be brave.
I don't think there is a single musical artist today that actually has a good voice and can carry a tune.
It's all autotuned live and more if they aren't singing to a prerecorded track.
And your holier than thou idea of how you or someone else thinks they can hear better than others and you get a cringe when you hear something that doesn't sound perfect is actually just your own fear of standing up and standing out and being brave. You just disguise it as feeling bad for someone else. It's your fear. It's your inability to stand up.
Singers that people connect with are almost never the perfect singers. It's the ones where you hear there heart being smashed on the floor or their power crushing they opposition that people love. Not whether they are the perfect music fags.
Stop being a music fags.
Get some balls and be brave enough to make people feel that you feel something when you step to the mic.
You know there's another aspect of this and it's not just been with this generation but probably started with a previous one that's just really sad. It used to be perfectly natural for people in a household to get up and sing together. They didn't have the internet they didn't have pre-recorded music hell they didn't even have radio. So if someone didn't know how to play the piano or something else in the household and someone didn't get up and saying there was no music. So everyone learned those skills. In fact women it was one of their things that they were trained for if they went to finishing school was how to play an instrument and how to carry a tune so they could be the entertainment in the house when the man came home from working in the mine or the whatever all day.
And then somewhere along the way when broadcast media was invented and voices and things began to get manipulated and agents and Hollywood began to create false hero image around singers which used to be a common thing but suddenly it was a celebrity thing. And people began to look up to those people and think they were untouchable and that they were better than average people. And so then someone who wasn't a celebrity who got up and sang or something or someone who thought they might want to get up insane but felt like they didn't have the chops to do it because they weren't a celebrity well it just kind of screwed up the whole thing. You don't have to have bona fides to sing. Let me tell you there are a million people with great voices. I think enough people have probably seen America's got talent or some of those other shows where the idea that someone gets up and has an amazing voice is no longer a rare thing and people realize it's no longer rare. They try to make it sound like it's unique and rare but let me tell you if you spend any time in Los Angeles in every single apartment complex there will be someone on every floor and usually more than one that has the most beautiful voice you've ever heard and you will wonder why they aren't famous.
It's the myth of the celebrity on a pedestal that is made people think they don't have the right to get up and sing. It's all bullshit. Everybody can sing. Most people are actually good at singing if they just actually sing and they get over they're bullshit fear. Everybody has unique voice you don't have to be belting it out you don't have to have perfect fit pitch you just have to know the song know the words no not to stop in the middle of the song if it's not perfect and just keep on going through it and show emotion.
And you got to get over this idea that if you're not good you don't get to sing. Cuz let me tell you the only reason anybody who you think is good ever got good and it usually happens very young is because no one told them they were bad and they were belting it out and they've been belting it out and they've been doing it for a long time and they all had decent enough voices. It's just a matter of doing it and no one ever telling you that you suck. Because everybody sucks in the first couple of songs they sing then you learn one or two songs you don't try to overdo it you say hey oh it's not really about me it's about perfecting it's about having fun it's about showing some emotion and making people feel you feel the song. Has nothing to do with perfect voice.
But never ever feel like there is some celebrity gatekeeper that says you can or cannot step up to the mic. Just do it. Life is short. One day you'll die. And at that time you'll say why was I so scared about what 20 strangers in a room would think of me after I sat back down after I murdered a song when I just heard 20 strangers before me murder songs and they sat back down and no one cared that they murdered him in fact they were usually polite enough to clap for them and have fun and even the dorkiest worst singer had a better chance of getting a girl than you did because you set your butt in a chair because you were scared.

It's like somebody misspelling every word.
But you have to hit on the ladies, you never know if there's one dumb enough to say yes.
