They are struggling to wag the dog on this. If he is a nazi, then Trump is hated by nazis and that makes him appealing to centrists and leftists on the fence. If it is a leftist, then it shows that the left is violent.

The only acceptable response is to claim both, through different outlets to confuse and blur the lines.
