Eratosthenes is a bitch.

submitted by McNasty to whatever 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:00:20 ago (+3/-5)     (whatever)

Eratosthenes is claimed to have proven the earth is round in 240 BC with his observation of shadows.

In his observation he made a couple presumptions. First, he presumed that the earth was round. Because of this presumption, he had to presume that the sun's rays were reaching the earth in parallel fashion for the behavior of shadows to be accurate. His conclusion looked like this.

https://files.catbox.moe/6k92sk.png

This is odd because nobody ever gives a reason why he should have presumed the earth was round in the first place. The oddest part being, he would have seen clouds all his life that looked like this.

https://files.catbox.moe/likxfy.webp

https://files.catbox.moe/h15qtw.jpg

In 240 BC, why would any reasonable person see clouds that look like this their entire life, then presume that the sun's rays are reaching the entire earth in parallel fashion?

So let's take the objective, observable, and repeatable data that Eratosthenes would have objectively saw like crepuscular rays, and make the necessary presumptions we need for the behavior of shadows to be accurate.

Crepuscular sun rays from behind clouds would suggest a smaller local Sun. With a smaller local Sun, the behavior of the shadows can be reproduced on a flat Earth. That conclusion would look like this.

https://files.catbox.moe/e8kule.png

The heliocentric paradigm will claim it's all an "illusion" and the sun rays really are parallel, but they just appear to be crepuscular. After all, Einstein told us all about reality and how it's all a "persistent illusion." But we are talking about 240 B.C. They didn't have jewish "scientists" lying to them about rockets in space yet. Their entire reality is based on their terrestrial observations. He would have seen the same thing that we see today. Crepuscular rays. Sure, modern science can argue things are "illusions" and I can argue that they're not. The following is an example.

The distance of the sun from the earth to scale.
https://files.catbox.moe/hfaki9.jpg

Now visualize that distance and convince yourself that the sun can create this hotspot with parallel rays.
https://files.catbox.moe/q4zj4v.png

Now attempt to visualize parallel rays creating the illusion of crepuscular rays in this picture.
https://files.catbox.moe/5ffm86.jpg

I can make an argument against the claim of illusion but my point in this post is that they are described as illusions for a reason. An illusion is something that appears like one thing, but is something else in reality. Without the explanation of the illusion, you would have no reason to believe it was an illusion. So if we're told that in reality the sun's rays are parallel, but the illusion is that they appear crepuscular, then Eratosthenes should have observed them and presumed that the sun was small and local because he personally had no reason to presume crepuscular rays were an illusion and he should have came to the conclusion that the earth was flat.

Sure, you could argue that the world proved his presumptions years later, but I'm asking about Eratosthenes, in 240 BC, with the information he had available to him, and whether or not you find his conclusion reasonable given his circumstances.

With all this being said, Even if we give him the benefit of the doubt with his presumption that the earth was round in the first place, this would indeed require that the sun's rays are parallel, but modern science can't even keep consistent with that claim when they try to explain an eclipse.

Everybody has their own chronological order in which they received red pills. We receive them all our lives. From the moment you realized that Santa Claus wasn't real, you have progressed to understanding that the CIA killed JFK, 911 was an inside job, climate change propaganda and so on. It might differ from person to person but we all have a list. But at some point you understood that the Holocaust was a hoax. This was a major leap because it probably changed your perspective on the entire world and the history we are given. You realized that 911 was an inside job, but the people behind that job were jews. Or that the CIA did kill JFK, but that the CIA answers to the Mossad. You eventually see a pattern. But as a Holocaust denier, you would fully understand what it is like to have such an unpopular opinion. And you would also understand what it is like to argue against a brick wall of ignorance and regurgitated mainstream narratives without any substance until you are inevitably banned from whatever platform you use to use and relocated to the limited hangout farm we call voat. That is where I am at today. Ever since I learned the truth about the Holocaust, I've treated anything and everything with the same skepticism. It has led me to the inevitable conclusion that the Earth is flat. I simply challenge the mainstream claim by observing reality.

I fully expect shills to be butthurt and agree with the disclaimers that Wikipedia or YouTube would put on the information that I try to share. If you're a Holocaust denier, then you know the routine. Make a post with substance, get denial, get insults, accusations, and deflection. Not a single one of them will address the actual post I made about Eratosthenes because the argument is bulletproof. They will treat this post the same exact way reddit would treat a post that was questioning why the chimney at Auschwitz wasn't attached to the building. There's no argument against it so they will avoid it at all costs.

he presumed that the earth was round

No, he didn't. He developed a theory based on observation, then tested that theory with experimentation. He then quantified the distances he had measured and used geometry to create a mathematical model of what he found. He didn't just pull it out of his ass and make up a word salad to explain it.

By the way, jewboy, have you ever heard of parallax?

He developed a theory based on observation,

Based on what observation? Crepuscular rays would be what he observed and that would have suggested a smaller local sun.

So can you substantiate on what you believe he observed that make it reasonable to presume the earth is round?

Okay, so retard boy learned a new word: "crepuscular". Even though it doesn't apply here, he's going to shoehorn it in wherever he can.

I've been making that post for 5 years dumb ass. And it does apply. It's the word heliocentrism uses to describe what they call an "illusion" that makes the clouds appear as though the sun is directly behind them. It's literally what the world means retard.

Please do read. See how baal sucker uses circular reasoning and jewish theoretical metaphysics to "prove" his argument. Lol.

[ - ] I_am_baal 1 point 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:34:40 ago (+1/-0)*

lol. I'm not attempting to prove anything to you. I'm bullying you because it's entertaining, and it's a way of fighting world jewery. FE is a way of neutralizing forums as hubs against jewery by driving away intelligent users with an army of insufferable idiots. It also serves to limit knowledge of the holohoax and other real conspiracies by associating them with fake and absurd conspiracies like FE.

So I encourage any goat that finds some joy in bullying the retarded to also bully McNasty (In a way that doesn't clutter up the forum with FE bullshit. Don't make some gay post about it. Bully him in the comments). If not, then don't interact with him, and when you see others bullying him, know that the FE jewish mind virus has not taken down our little hub against jewery.

Imagine thinking the earth is flat just because owen benjewin, a guy who admits on video that he crams his fingers in his butt while jerking off, tells you so. Embarrassing.

[ - ] McNasty [op] -3 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:19:38 ago (+0/-3)

Lol. No. I've been a flat earther long before old Benjamin. That's why I'm so good at triggering you shills. I've heard all your retarded arguments and have a rebuttal in the chamber for every single one.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 4 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:20:57 ago (+4/-0)

But you haven't "triggered" anybody. We laugh at you. You fell for a jewish psy-op. sad

[ - ] McNasty [op] -3 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:21:52 ago (+0/-3)

You faggots won't leave me alone and none of you can prove me wrong. You faggs are definitely triggered. But nobody like to admit that.

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 2 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:25:47 ago (+2/-0)

You've been made a fool of many times here and are viewed as a clown shill. Imagine believing owen benjewin, a jew who said old men should be able to marry 13 year old children and get them pregnant. You're lost or a jew

[ - ] McNasty [op] -2 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:27:19 ago (+0/-2)

Says the faggot who posted over 250+ links to reddit. Lol. Has anyone ever told you to go back to Reddit yet you dumb faggot?

[ - ] HonkyMcNiggerSpic 0 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:42:43 ago (+0/-0)

You're triggered because of my facts and truth. I can get facts and truth from many places and you will still cry. You see, you've lost all credibility here and are viewed as a bigger clown than owen himself.

Proof of a globed earth.

The distance from Perth Australia to ushuaia Argentina is 6450 miles.

The distance from Ottawa Canada to Bejing China is 6911.

This is only possible on a globed earth. Which is why you'll never provide a scale for any of your models.

This is a picture of a lunar eclipse.

How does this happen using a flat earth model.

[ - ] FreeinTX 1 point 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 11:43:22 ago (+1/-0)

Oh good. Then you certainly must have a representation of what you imagine the earth actually looks like. Can you provide it along with a scale for distance?

Can you explain how lunar eclipses work?

How about showing me a model of how a city in the southern tip of south America can have shorter days in the summer and longer days in the winter.

I'd love to see it. But you won't.

[ - ] Drstrangestgov 1 point 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 12:13:16 ago (+1/-0)

He noticed when he traveled that shadows fell differently depending upon where and the time of day.

[ - ] McNasty [op] 0 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 12:29:21 ago (+0/-0)

Sure. And there is two possibilities. A flat earth with a small sun, or a round earth with a massive sun far far away.

To win this argument, you must present what Eratosthenes would have seen that would make him presume it was round.

I already stated that crepuscular rays would be what he observed which would have suggested a flat Earth.

I want to believe....

can you explain how one set of stars rotates in one direction vs the other half of the plane, where a completely different set of stars rotate in the opposite direction? How do we have two sets of stars rotating in opposite directions while sitting on this flat plane of an earth...

oh and where the fuck does the sun go at night???

Please, can you explain this one with the same amount of spunk you put into this post?

[ - ] McNasty [op] 0 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 12:30:30 ago (+0/-0)

oh and where the fuck does the sun go at night???

I made another post explaining all of that. I sent you a link when I get home.

Yes but I don't think you would understand. But I can tell you that it is objectively impossible for the earth to rotate, have an elliptical orbit, while the sun has an elliptical orbit, while the galaxy has an elliptical orbit and so on, and have the stars remain in the same relative position to each other throughout the entirety of History. Ancient scholars would have noticed this and there's no way they would assume that stars existed at various distances.

But this is the typical response when I prove a particular point. It's like trying to tell someone that the chimney wasn't even attached to the building and they have to interrupt and say "what about this, what about that." I just want to say, "shut the fuck up and take it one point at a time.

I'll make a post explaining it in detail later. I'm on the road right now.

So this guy made an interactive model of the flat Earth. He is a globe earther himself. I got to hand it to him, he did a really good job making the model. I think he's a genuine guy that's lost in the sauce because he really did put an effort into making this thing cuz he wanted to prove it right or wrong. For the most part, the model is accurate. It can show you how perception works works in certain situations like what you are asking with the Stars. If you click on the link and then scroll down to the interactive part, you can just click on the box that says "stars" in it and it will show you a demonstration. You can also play around with the model yourself.

http://walter.bislins.ch/bloge/index.asp?page=Flat+Earth+Dome+Model&state=-65-1Lets--investigate--the--shape--of--the--Night--Shadow--on--the--Flat--Earth.-713.894801-11.388948-127.789602-125.3684-281.5-30-50-20-10-5

I'm not claiming that this is a 100% accurate flat Earth model, but I am claiming that it was somebody's honest attempt and one of the things that they got right is how your perception works when you're looking up at a dome of stars. What he did wrong was he took the heliocentric model and flattened it out. This means that variables of stars and celestial bodies are going to be inaccurate. Flat earthers don't claim that they are at those positions and at those sizes.

Also, I can tell you a million things wrong with the heliocentric model and stars.

Is the Moon round or flat?

[ - ] McNasty [op] 0 points 9 monthsJul 22, 2024 13:34:38 ago (+0/-0)

The Moon is a projection similar to an electromagnetic microscope. That's why the Moon is semi-transparent and you can see blue in it during the day and it's black at night. Those sections of the Moon would be the part of the electronic microscope image that the electrons bounced off of. The macrocosm microcosm. Everything is either a bigger or smaller version of itself.
