Holding onto a dream implies burdening self with an outcome, hence pressing down upon one aka depression. Resisting the temptation to hold onto, not just grows resistance (elation), but also reliefs depression.
The issue...holding onto something dreamlike isn't easy to let go of, hence the internal struggle of many with the external dream-weaving by few in for example their "Hollywood Dream Factory"
