No there was a whole study done by another guy who went around and he studied a native Africans who had not yet been introduced to the Western diet. And he found they all had perfectly straight teeth and no tooth problems at all. And it turns out it's the act of eating meat that does it. I forget whether it's something in the meat or just simply the strong chewing that is required but it's one or the other or maybe both but it actually ensures that your teeth remain healthy and they come in straight without braces.

Breastfeeding is also a big factor. Bottle feeding has significantly changed palate and jaw development. Breastfed infants work harder and feed more frequently. Bottlefed kids can guzzle milk or formula without working their facial muscles as much and formula keeps kids satiated for longer so they exercise those muscles even less.
