Sure. The First Amendment is NOT the law of the land. It is the law that restricts the FEDERAL FUCKING GOVERNMENT from making law that abridges those laws. The First Amendment was never intended to pertain to or apply to the states, which at the time were, and still are, sovereign to the federal government. Federal laws by definition by the Constitution do not apply to State law.
