Wife and I went to Napa where we walked around a few antique shops and then stopped in to a Michelin rated spot for lunch.
Sat on the patio because it was a nice 75 degrees as opposed to my neck of the woods where it’s 20 degrees higher, a nice break.
Along comes a family of four, mom, dad, boy and girl. I soon hear Swedish being spoken amongst them, as that’s apparently where they are from. Next, I see some tables being arranged for a larger group and I’m thinking, ‘man, I hope they don’t have screamers'

Holy shit, in comes a black momma and a boy, about eight, and I’m thinking, ‘fuck, here we go'.
Next, the rest of the gathering rolls in and it consists of four teenaged girls, a mother and maybe a father, or uncle figure. Anyway, two adult boons, a buck, a boy and four girls.

And you wouldn’t believe it, but they were all dressed well, well behaved, the girls were articulate in their verbal communication, the boy was quiet, the man was chill and the two women were just normal.

Now, I know that can all switch on a dime to a full chimpout, for no reason at all, but it didn’t.
Oh, two of the girls had braces, a total white thing and all of them spoke like California White girls.

I was totally blown away and then I reflected on something my liberal PhD Anthropologist father always told me, that it’s about class, not race.
In this instance, he would be correct.
However, I will never gamble on that theory and will always ‘never relax’

This was a one off and it kinda goes to show that money does fix things.
Obviously this fambly, or whatever this group was, had means, has means.
Poor trash isn’t having lunch in downtown Napa at a Michelin restaurant.

Wife ended up finding some things she wanted at the outlets, it was a good day.

Before you rag on this post, also know that I enjoyed the back and forth between the Swedish family sitting to my right.
I found it funny when the father argued for a glass so his daughter could have wine as well.
