Did you sprinkle seeds on top and mist to keep wet?
How much light or sun did you give them while germinating?

Keep in mind that i live in new Zealand.
Nicotiana tabacum seeds, not your variety.
I just spread a ton of seeds on a tray.
Hundreds germinated.
I then picked a few and repotted in pot plants.
When two inches across 6 went into horse manure and wood chipped garden and grew to 7 feet tall over summer.
The potted ones stayed small . No more than 2 foot.
All seeded. I picked lower leaves that yellowed.
High winds knocked over the garden ones in autumn.
I picked the seeds and just started the process again last week.
Going to plant 100 this year, people enjoyed the 400 grams i gave away free to family and friends.
A little goes a long way with my pipe.
