Extended versions of LoTR are masterpieces all children and adults should watch as the gold standard for cinema. The book is excellent reading material.

Star Wars hits different after you get knowledge it was made by a jew and you know how fucked up jews are. Both have jewess leads. Protagonists have weird shit going on. All praises to either democracy or total revolution as these are the only governments jews like. Le nazis bad. And so forth.

Star Wars feels pretty corny now, especially the very first movie. Almost cringe at times. You might as well give it a try and see what you think.

Lord of the Rings is pretty good, but I always thought it was a pretty boring story to be honest. You won't find any better similar fantasy movies though.

Yes and no. Star Wars is an amazing trilogy but at the other end of it,it's just a movie. Same with LOTR. Probably better to look into improving your own life. Maybe see if you can find a good woman to make your wife or something.

Yes, but if you're going to watch one trilogy make it the Dollars trilogy. You'll even get to see that kike Eli Wallach playing a dirty Mexican. Clint Eastwood really is one of the all-time greats. He had a great style of masculinity (no homo). Just taking care of business and not bullshitting.

Godfather trilogy is great. Third one gets shit on but it's still pretty good, just not an outright masterpiece like the first two. And fuck the third one also has that kike Eli Wallach, this time playing an Italian. Kikes love to shapeshift, eh?

Mad Max trilogy also holds up very well.

I proposed a Pajeet remake of Star Wars a couple weeks back.

i really really really REALLY want to say yes OG Star Wars is worth watching...

but damn it hasnt aged well. i grew up on the shit and had a stack of novels but watching the originals now there are a few moments that make me fucking cringe.

Highlander, theres one ill always tell people to watch. Good bad. Star Wars mediocre good, its more the nostalgia factor i think for me now. hell i bought a lego tantive iv (very first spaceship you see flying past in opening credits in the first movie) a few weeks back purely because it was there and i was bored shitless.

Ive never watched any of the Lord of the Rings movies and ive never been able to finish any of the books, i have tried multiple times over my life and the shit just makes me fall asleep. Tolkien had a great imagination but i recall looking at entire fucking chapters of text slabs describing blades of grass and shit. The actual real content of those stories was low hence the movies having to be on steroids for low iq people with short attention spans.

Ya want Tolkien-eque imagination that squeezes caricatures of real life and awesome humor go pick up some Terry Pratchett books, and... i recall 'Colour of Magic' with Sean Astin as 'Twoflower' and David Jason as 'Rincewind' was pretty fucking funny

if ya can speak french or can stand subtitles, 'Les Visiteurs' with Jean Reno Christian Clavier, Mary Ann Chazel (Not 'The Visitors' with Jean Reno Christian Clavier and Christina Applegate, thats america rebranding popular movies and shooting way wide of the mark again, complete and utter shit)

Not a movie and I recall being astonished at how over the top the US adaptation of The Office was after watching the original.

The Visitors/Les Visiteurs absolutely are movies. Original was french. Knight (Jean Reno) and dumbass peasant (Christian Clavier) kill knights fiancee, run to a wizard and ask for a potion to go back a day and stop himself, drink the potion, poof gone, wizard goes 'Merde, j'oublier l'eouf' knight and peasant wake up in same place 900 years later, meet their descendants, find out Jacquoille's (Jackass') descendant Jacque-Henri now owns the knights castle, Knight meets Frenegondes great great great great great great great great granddaughter, queue a bizarre romp of a knight trying to find a wizards descendant, while his peasant keeps trying to get his descendant drunk to try and force him to go back to the past, to rescue the fiancee. A bunch of coherent plots that all tie up and is like watching Monty Python in french (two different french dialects with different subtitles)

The Visitors - (Jean Reno) (Christian Clavier) are mannequins dressed as a knight and peasant in a chicago museum.... and um... fucked if i know, completely pointless shit happens i presume to become mannequins again? that is your absolute bog standard 'HUR DIS FUNNI WHERE IT FRUM WE MAKE FOR US NAO! BUT MUST BE MURRCAN!' and just utterly raping everything about thing popular overseas thing that makes absolutely zero sense in america. like trying to portray 'Chavs' in america in Shameless. Chavs are real, the shit Shameless US came up with are fictional equivalents where you have to find a reason for these fucktards to be around each other.... the equivalent in the US would be basically Deliverance in a tv show format which sure as shit wouldnt be entertaining.

I think we're not understanding one another.

I was relating a similar experience with finding American adaptations to be "shooting wide of the mark".

The particular experience I relate involved viewing a TV show called "The Office", which is not movie like "The Visitors".

I bought one of those gundam bandai assembly toys once. I threw it in the trash after I assembled it and never bought another.

While the Lord of the Rings films were beautiful works of art, I found the story to be insufferable. Might be better suited for children. That damn third movie wouldn’t end. Fades to black so many times before rolling the credits.

This is not to discredit the amount of effort that went into the films.

They were good the first watch. The last time I watched them, all I could think about was how the hordes of Orcs wanted to slaughter and take over the lands of the Whites, hobbits, etc. It reminded me of the demographic replacement going on in the West today and made me angry.

There was a great era of lotr memes doing just that. Still great memes.

The star wars originals are fucking amazing.

[ - ] Trope 3 points 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 00:14:08 ago (+4/-1)

Ah yes, episodes One, Two, and Three.

Jar Jar was always a personal favorite.

We still have the Pepsi cans.

[ - ] anon 3108674 3 points 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 00:16:37 ago (+3/-0)

Yeah those weren't the originals bud.

[ - ] i_scream_trucks 3 points 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 00:19:37 ago (+3/-0)

i dont know whether to be triggered or not...

it equally feels like a 'smack the retard' but also 'why the fuck should i care' moment.

[ - ] anon 3108674 1 point 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 00:22:31 ago (+1/-0)

lol

[ - ] anon 4554142 0 points 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 03:52:36 ago (+0/-0)*

Can't smackin' tards for next to no reason be fun too?

That confused look on their face while they try to process whether they should be mad, or just accept it as the price of being a tard makes it worth the effort.

[ - ] i_scream_trucks 1 point 8 monthsAug 29, 2024 08:01:11 ago (+1/-0)

or that time when you go a little too far and slap the retard out of them, they start reciting pi backwards from the 100th integer, then you slap em again to make sure they understood this aint no fuckin summer camp betsy, and they go back to normal again.

[ - ] anon 4122415 0 points 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 01:08:33 ago (+0/-0)

why are they called episode 1 2 3 then?

[ - ] anon 8383883 1 point 8 monthsAug 28, 2024 02:16:00 ago (+1/-0)

Because they're prequels. The original film was called Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope.

[ - ] i_scream_trucks 0 points 8 monthsAug 29, 2024 08:02:06 ago (+0/-0)

because lucas always had a 1 2 and 3 already in mind, but supposedly couldnt do them how he wanted. whether theyre in any way related to the garbage he eventually shat out is anyones guess.
