This type of scamming is not limited to nogs and is in fact much more common with Jews. I had a Jew tell me 10 years ago that it would cost $5000 for his company to refinish the floor of my studio apartment. Only about 300 square feet of my apartment has hardwood.

I worked somewhere where one of my duties was getting folks out to do this sort of work. Always got three quotes for this exact reason.

I do most of my own work but there's some things I'll hire out for, usually because of my own laziness or if it's some big plumbing thing. It sometimes trips them up if I start asking detailed in-depth questions. And if they can't answer them, I show them the door.

Of course I'll only do business with local Whites, so that probably has an effect on the high success rate of the guys that get sent.
