Regarding his command ability your opinion seems somewhat jewey though.

First of all the dude was relying solely on the power of his autism. That's no mean feat. Basically everyone who was someone back then was either upper class (meaning favored by (epi)genetics, education and social capital) or a career revolutionary (e.g. mass murderers with literal comic book villain levels of cruelty and vengefulness).

Hitler was by all accounts just a weird dude with some artsy tendencies and he actually believed what he was preaching. There is so much smoke being blown surrounding his persona that you are forgiven for believing that he was a Rothchild agent or whatever but the basic facts remain that he didn't indulge in much of anything: no drugs - apart from what his Jewish doctor may have injected him with, no sex, no slack (Stalin is said to have been AWOL at times and Churchill went painting in his Mansion on occasion) and almost no privileges in general (Adolf and his staff supposedly restricted themselves to starvation rations during the siege of Stalingrad). That's why he wasn't afraid to show his face in public even when he sent 10 year olds to the front at the end.

More importantly though he really never fucked up much in terms of interference with the military professionals. That shit is mostly allied propaganda and post war blame gaming from his surviving generals. You probably think he ordered constant offensives or some shit. In reality though he was extremely cautious. He ordered the panzers the stop in France. He almost gave up on Norway completely and the whole north african campaign basically started against his orders. When he forbade forces to retreat it always had solid reasoning behind it.

The general staff wanted to abandon the front at Moscow in 1941. Hitler told them to STFU and hold the line because there was nowhere to retreat to and modern historians tend to side with him on that one. Stalingrad isn't much different really. The 6th army was holding back two or three soviet armies at the Volga river. Had they retreated the Soviets would have pursued. Inside the city there was at least shelter. Outside was nothing. The was no fuel so everything and everyone that couldn't walk was also lost in case of a retreat. Under those circumstances gambling everything on the Luftwaffe was the smart thing to do.
