Then it's a little nonsensical to say heavy metal is better than classical if you have no frame of reference. I'm not criticizing, I'm just stating the truth.

Classical music is one creation from our cultural heritage that distinguishes the west from the rest of the world. It's based on several hundred unbroken years of creation, composition, and study and is unique for having a written notation, something no other culture has managed to accomplish (with the exception of perhaps India, and that is only rudimentary). Classical music has gone through several phases stylistically, often changing with the development of new musical instruments. The baroque period was characterized by polyphony and featured harpsichords, but when the pianoforte appeared, block chords became fashionable with less emphasis on counterpoint. That's just one example.

I've spent decades listening to and studying classical music and the well has never gone dry for me. I would hope you give it a chance. If you like, I can recommend some easy pieces to listen to you might enjoy.
