A woman friend of mine that is pretty sensible honestly couldn't see that the short men/fat women thing is a double standard. She couldn't say why, but it 'just is'

Here's why she couldn't put it into words.

Being tall, strong and capable is what makes a man. That is the essence of masculinity.
Men see femininity and being in shape is the essence of being a woman. It's the bare minimum.

But women see being chubby and out of shape as a natural part of being a woman. They fight it constantly and that it's just life. It's natural for women.

Men can't grow more but women can lose weight. Not according to most women though- they see being round as feminine as an inevitability.

They will never see eye to eye on this. Because logically it doesn't hold up but women sense it is wrong and can't articulate why.

Also, when they are young men are straight and angular; young women are curved and round. As they get older women turn angular and boxy- a lot of women hit middle age and get refrigerator bodies then men age and they turn circular and round.

That 'smart' claim came completely out of left field. I'll take a wild guess she's a retard and totally insecure about it
