I believe they had been collecting beta coronavirus variants from the wild bat population in China for decades and studying them. I believe that they used CRISPR technology to create betacorona virus hybrids which were a mix of these strains and human corona viruses like SARS I and MERS. I believe that they grafted the respiratory tracts of juvenile lab mice with stem cells from human abortions to create ”humanized mice” which they then infected with these hybrid viruses. I believe this is part of a process called “passaging” though which the virus is “taught” to infect human cells more efficiently. This is called gain of function research. Its a bio-weapons platform. This was a pet research area that Fauci funded over a long period during his tenure headingt the NIAID. Scientists like Shi Zhengli, Ralph Baric, and Peter Daszak performed many such experiments over the last 20 years.
