I had an idea for an app that used the back camera to show what the phone was pointed at and then overlay all other apps semi-transparent over it.

Believe it or not, there was already an app back in 2010 in which you could use your camera to display what it saw as a background/live wallpaper. Clearly it never caught on as a popular app and used up a lot of battery. But it was a thing back then.

I know that you're expanding on the idea by using it as a semi-transparent background though.
