The comfortable become fat.
The fat die.

Never relax.

Same when I started training in bjj, the days i almost didnt go, I felt like I had the best days rolling. I always figured it was my fight or flight mentality kicking in since i didnt really want to be there that day. As in, “hey buddy lets engage in some chess” vs “well, i didnt want this fight, but here it is”
Totally different mindset.

I don't know about you, but THIS video was advice that I needed to hear at this particular moment in my life. Your comment, like @con77 's below, further drove the point home! Thanks

You're never too old either
I overhead pressed 300lbs on a Hammerstrength rack at 58.
That was after going 3x a week for 5 years.

If a man is judged by the company he keeps, I will be judged well because I know this crowd! Thanks for the inspiration!

A phrase that has always stuck in my mind is “every dead body on Mount Everest was a highly motivated person” this video on discipline helps explain the meaning of this phrase.

Jocko! He wrote two books which I enjoyed very much.

The first book is an excellent children’s book that teaches the value of being brave, eating right, not being lazy, and excelling with a sense of honor. I will read it to my children some day.

The other book is about his consulting business where he shares stories of how businesses were failing based on workers not taking accountability. He then compared the lessons with stories from his time in the military. This book really drove home the point of taking charge - even when you’re surrounded by idiots.

Im going to listen to this video tomorrow. I’ve been so busy with work and school, my workout routine has fallen by the wayside.
