I've been reading and Rome fell in much the same way: the citizens were treated like shit, and the foreigners were treated like royalty. With the debasement of the money, also came a host of new taxes, fees and inflation. And just like the US/EU, the majority of the plebs moved from farming, to make shift bullshit jobs producing no value. And just like today, they had all the same problems: fertility rates dropping, hedonism, real business failures producing value failed whilst jewish usury was prospering.

The only reason the Roman empire took so long to fall is because they didn't have digital currencies. They still relied heavily on coinage debasement. Had they had the technology, they would have fallen in less than 50 years.
