I remember having an argument with a colleague about this year's back. He absolutely asserted without reservation that we shared 50% of our DNA with a banana. After correcting him several times, that in fact bananas share 50% of its DNA with us as a distinction. I eventually just gave up and called him a banana.
Speaking of shared biology, Eugene McCarthy's Hybrid Hypothesis is a very interesting read. Some parts seem crazy but some parts are really hard to dismiss.
The DNA ancestry software seems to have a bias for categorizing non-humans as SS africans tho. Ashkhenazis are heavily caucasoid. I dont know why it would categorize the lizard as caucasian as Eurasians are generally more derived genetically. But who knows.
Contamination from the person who handled the sample or performed the test.
Its a chronic problem in DNA testing. Many DNA analyses from ancient samples like Neanderthals or Egyptian mummies have been called into question because of the potential for contamination.

We're much more alike than you think to most animals when you think about the shared biology.
