think some of the older bands im in to might have already gigged there but we are talking days before the internet so if a band wasnt in your country where they were didnt mean a hell of a lot.
Hell when i was a kid sold out concerts in Melbourne were broadcast live on TV (free, we had no cable here until Foxtel in the... dunno, later), we got VHS's somewhere of pretty much any big group or artist from the mid 80s to mid 90s on video live, probably with the ads still in them as well. That must have ended some time around..... the PULSE era from Floyd i think... weve got Delicate Sound Of Thunder on video, we were actually there, dad took me when i was.... an early age. pretty sure that was 88
Some of this is before my time, I do recall having a friend who had gone to Australia and came back trying to tell me a bad named (I will never forget this) "The Sherbs" was once all the rage and we should revive them. I checked them out, and kind of shrugged. I love old shit, don't get me wrong, I just realize that certain acts of the time just managed to conquer,
No apologies necessary, I agree. There are vey few bands that offer any "cover to cover" masterpiece ablums. You couldn't put together a cover to cover if you used every track they cut.
