The political/Religious landscape was different back then. There were Faithful Jews who weren't insufferable assholes, THOSE are the Jews that Jesus was King of. As the Jews were cast aside, Jesus became the Savior, not only to the good Jews, but also to the Gentiles (Christians). History with the Jews is muddied at best. Be careful of painting with too broad a brush!
