What i hate the most about globalism and corporatism is that the taxpayer will be stuck with these buildings. Walgreens made their money, but its the town/city who has to pay for all the damage caused, loss of jobs, loss of revenue. This doesn't even get into Walgreens being complicit in getting everyone hooked on pills

That's why you don't have company towns and allow corporations to pay for their failures. Otherwise you end up with megastores everywhere under one brand that can just decide to up and leave and there's not much else to go to.

You see it everywhere, most cities have no soul, its just a conglomerate of chain stores. Sure it somewhat works, but when the entire fed fails (like it is now), thousands upon thousands will wake up homeless and destitute in their own country. A strong family lead by a strong father, supported by his nation to allow him a good homestead while he does his thing for the country. If he lost his job, assuming he had a 'job' and didn't contract himself, he could fall back on his lands and look for another without becoming immediately destitute.

CVS and Walgreens expanded at an insane pace for over a decade racing against each other to claim more territory. They went well past the limit of what the market could support.
