Fake.

Looks like someone took standard A4 paper, crinkled it, ran it through a drier briefly on low temp, and then passed it off as a letter from patton.

Text that old, especially typewriter text, fades signficantly, especially when it's as wrinkled and worn as that.

I would know. I have multiple tubs of handwritten letters, and research documents.
