For the past few days they just won't load. If they are posted in a thread then I can get those ones to play but not if I just go to youtube to watch a vid, it will not play.
I know, I kn ow. Clear cache data. I did this and it didn't help. The only thing I haven't done is delete the cookies. Could this be the prob? Any help is appreciated.

You probably want to delete unwanted cookies regularly. Be sure to whitelist sites you auto-log into first though.
I started getting unstoppable ads on around half of all youtube videos about a month ago. Have to immediately click any link, then right click and 'back' to skip them. I'm also banned from yt, if that makes a difference.
It downloads videos, usually. I found that I could just download some youtube videos which would not load and then watch them that way. Google is constantly fucking up their API to make everything shittier, so yt-dlp is broken a percentage of the time, between updates.

It can certainly be a pain in the ass, but it has definitely been the easiest way to download videos from various sites.
I've found the easiest way to download something from Youtube that requires a login is to open a completely different browser and use that singular tab to pull cookies from. If I try Brave it gives me issues when I have my usual crap-ton of tabs open, so I'll use Firefox for that.
Try another browser on the same device first. It's the easiest test and no need to kill your cookies or cache before doing that. You can also try incognito mode in your current browser, which is effectively like clearing your cookies.
Open a command prompt Load DiskPart Type LIST DISK to see a list of disks Select the disk you want to format by typing SELECT DISK Type CLEAN Type LIST VOLUME Type FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL=32 QUICK
Then look in a mirror and repeat:
