Meh, and the only reason the system might had any actual worth for street shitters is because the British entirely reformed and standardized India's formal education system and curriculum in the middle 1800's through till the 1930's - basing it on their own.
Before that it was a mix of early Jesuit/ missionary schooling and mostly Hindu/ Jain etc religious village indoctrination by a village elder.
