Buddy purchased a system a few years back, 90,000 psi, cuts 1/2" plate and leaves no burr other than a sharp edge. They have their place in machining

What would happen if you had a upright tripod configuration and aimed it at a person - would it rapidly lose cutting power from say 1mm away to 10-15 ft?.

@dass ...I don't even like thinking about something of the sort, the hydra jet cutter in buddy's machine shop (big machine shop with military contracts) is plastered with Warning, Danger and Hazard signs and rightfully so, it's a precision killer...no horseplay, no idle conversation or distractions, 100% focus, and no leaning into cutting area/table, extended arms from vertical posture only...a fucking machine shop is probably in the top 3 of the most dangerous mechanical environments, put it this way, if the lights suddenly went out leaving the shop in pitch darkness but the equipment was still in operation, the last thing you would do is try to "feel your way out".
The inquisitive source of such a crude statement has no place in an environment relative to that crude statement.

Fuckin belly crawl outta there! I’ve worked in machine shops as a teen and bought myself a lathe ten years ago. There is nothing scarier than almost getting a hoodie string caught in your lathe because you became complacent. It was a life changing moment. I never wore anything even remotely loose or with sleeves after that. Id probably still be doing the spindly flop until the power company turned off power for non payment since I was in my little shop alone.
Those water jets are fucking insanely cool and just as dangerous.

There's a WPD video that is several minutes long. After a couple minutes the centrifugal force flings off limbs not caught. The video ends after a while, person still spinning.
