It would solve a lot of our elderly problems but it might create more. Specifically services geared toward older people. Retirement homes, medical care and every day life.

Professional services will know that the cow can be milked a little more so retirement homes will raise their prices, doctors will raise the costs of medicine and services that currently offer a discount will remove them. You Senior breakfast is no longer discounted by 25%. Your lawn care deal for 60 and over doesn't exist etc etc.

I'm not against it at all. Old people shouldn't be paying fuel taxes for roads they don't travel on or for schools they don't have kids going to but the rest of the nation will find a way to extract it from them.

Also we should take their old people welfare away. Its fucking crazy that healthy people should retire and live like kings on welfare while young workers cant afford to marry and have children. If you could see my dads retirement community you guys would be fuming. Its like being on a cruise ship for 30 years.

Lol that's about right. Exempt retired people just long enough for boomers to finish our their long, pampered lives.

As soon as the last boomer dies, they will reinstate taxes + 10% for Gen X and everyone else.

Hopefully the tax cuts can be made permanent though.

Jesus christ I'm not a boomer hater but my fucking lord. Possibly the worst generation in history with the easiest climb to total economic freedom for multiple reason many being just lucky timing.

1. Born from the ww2 generation.
2. Biggest economic and housing boom over 50 years
3. Inherit their economically conservative parents house which are worth insane amounts of money
4. Have their 401 k in when the tech boom hit
5. Housing market goes up even more
6. Don't give a fuck about passing in their money spend it before they die

If retiring means you've stopped working, then you won't have any income to tax. If you have income, you're still working and not retired.

Income- SS, pensions, 401k withdrawals

Property- every piece of property you own is taxed. Your home(s), your car, your boat

Sales tax- if applicable and in about 30 states IT IS

Fuel taxes- wanna drive to see the grandkids? YOU'RE TAXED MOTHERFUCKER!
