Both the Australian Labor Party AND the LNP (Liberal National Party) have passed the Digital 16 ID bill in Australia.

The only parties that oppose the bill are the independent Libertarian Party Australia and Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party and the new Gerard Rennick's People First Party.

If you don't value freedom of speech, it's because you have nothing of relevance to bring to the discussion.

Every politician in both major parties needs to be culled and turned into citrus fertiliser.

I’m all for literally barbecuing every politician that’s ever proposed anything related to digital ID bullshit.
And I realize this is all about legal precedent, and not some actual good of any kind.
But it’s extremely hard to argue that banning kids under 16 from social media isn’t in the top 10 best things that could possibly happen in any society.

If it’s a net negative, which anyone with a brain knows it is, then the state should enforce it.
Social media should be abolished for everyone.
Parents should have no more right to put social media in their kids lives, than they should be allowed to teach their kids that Jews are human.

As I understand it it will be left to the social media companies themselves to police it so we'll see what happens. If Elon tells Albo to fuck off, then he will have proved himself to be a champion of free speech.

It won't come into force till 2026(?). Let's hope it is mired in legal wrangling... Matt Canavan (I think it was him) claimed they managed to get it amended somewhat.

Australia will not force adult websites to bring in age verification due to privacy and security concerns

So teens can't access forums to discuss hot topics, but they can access literal smut.

Idk how they’ll try to justify digital ID’s here, maybe through a false flag cyberattack, maybe they’ll use AI to cause so many problems that it becomes intolerable so they say we need the digital ID to root out all the AI fake accounts….idk, but it is coming. It has absolutely nothing to do with protecting kids. They can access pornhub and Grindr under this legislation, but not twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.

It is about forcing every Australian to get digital ID.

And it's going to happen in UK too.
