Honestly,we'd use slighty refurbished mothballers for this cause there's always a chance the boons will chimp out and sink it on their own,but I think it's more fun to give them a fair shot at getting there. It's not like we wouldn't have life boats for the crew. Plus it'd polute the water and the ocean is a precious resource,unlike niggers.
