It dawns on me that an EMP might actually be best for civilians in a war with drones and robo dogs.

submitted by MaryXmas to whatever 4 monthsDec 4, 2024 23:16:21 ago (+18/-0)     (whatever)

In a few years, we may get to a place where robo dogs and drones are doing any attacking in a hot war and it may actually be beneficial to destroy all of them sending everyone back a few decades. If america ever does drone police shit on civilians, it think dis be de way. At least then the playing field is equal.

I'm pretty sure that pretty quickly military drone manufacturers will harden them against the MPS as much as possible. And what I have heard is that EMP is are actually not nearly as destructive as we're led to believe. Sure they'll knock out some stuff but whole lot of stuff even without hardening would survive an EMP apparently. It's kind of a myth that in an EMP would knock out everything.

Thank you. It's amazing how this myth doesn't die even though nuclear tests didn't fry the cameras, airplanes, or ships that were observing.

Cameras, Planes, Ships and just about everything had no digital parts back then. Film, direct cable controls etc are simply not effected by magnetic interference.

You say that with such confidence even though you have absolutely no idea how an emp is supposed to fry electronics. And you absolutely have no concept of what technology was used in the 1940s. If the emp was any threat at all it would have fried all the radios, all the power stations, all the telephones. None of that happened.

Digital things are NOT more susceptible to emp than power lines and radios. To pick up feedback from EM radiation you something that acts as an antenna. Every wire acts as an antenna, and the amount of energy it can collect is directly proportional to it's length. The microscopic wires in digital electronics are several orders of magnitude less able to collect energy than the wires in a phone or radio. Not to mention everything in there is shielded unlike the speaker coils and microphone coils.

EMPs are a fairy tail.

Some of them will be harded. Most of the drones are just bought from retail or amazon and retro-fitted. I guess it depends on which army.

I'm sure they will harden surveillance drones, but the exploady ones are just the cheapest thing they can strap a bomb to.

Everybody fights the last war. Any army should be at least 80% drone attacks. Saturate the forward combat lines with surveillance drones 24/7, then use FPV and bomber drones to eliminate every enemy asset spotted. It could be a continuous advance that never stops.

It just becomes AI gun turrets against AI drone light bomb attacks and AI gun dog turrets. What happens then, they massacre all the meat left breathing? Seems like going after the Xbox controllers may be a better road to victory.

killing an enemy drone operator team would unironically cripple such an army

Take the door off your microwave oven, tiny sheet metal screw the door-open button down, set it on high and point it at the attacking robots. They'll either shut down or start dancing the Tango.

If you're really adept at it, hook it to your computer ahead of time and have it pulse a new overriding command to "Return to point of deployment / detonate". It sounds farfetched, but it worked in the 2nd Man-Kzin war. Fuckin' ratcats.

Why don't you tell the russians and ukranians?

Emps don't destroy them permanently at most it will disrupt them for a while or disrupt coms to them. They would be built for combat. They would have shielding.

An EMP is not some magical power that instantly destroys anything electronic. That is stupid Hollywood shit.

People don't fight the leviathan that they've allowed to rule over them.
The leviathan will eventually, after we're long dead, is most probably to eventually turn on itself for reasons that have nothing to do with our understanding.
There will be no great war.
There will be a real currency collapse.
They will be real suffering and real violence.
Then there will be real social controls enforced by currency.
Letter groups will make deals to ease debt burdens and sell off natural resources.
Sovereignty will be sold of for fractions of a fraction of a penny.
Whites will be blamed.
Americans will rightly be blamed because our willful mismanagement of the European reserve currency will destroy 65 stakeholder nations at the exact same time and every friend we ever had disappears.
Supply chains stop.
Petroleum stops until the international aristocracy restarts it.
They're not on the verge of losing everything.
They haven't lost a single skirmish for half a century.
Russia, post 1917 is the Western European future.

nope

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 0 points 4 monthsDec 5, 2024 05:24:23 ago (+1/-1)

Yep.
There's only one issue in play.
Just one.
Everything else is bullshit.

[ - ] NeverHappened 0 points 4 monthsDec 5, 2024 10:53:26 ago (+0/-0)

What, joos?

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 4 monthsDec 5, 2024 14:09:16 ago (+1/-0)

The USD in in terminal collapse.
The only plan to counter this fact is to deflate the dollar to such a degree that we outpace the accrual of interest and render the debt meaningless.
Saying this is beyond stupid is self-evident.
Absent global debt jubilee, USD collapses - likely within the decade.
There is no degree of internet cope that remediates the tsunami of devastation that USD's failure unleashes.
None whatsoever.

[ - ] NeverHappened 0 points 4 monthsDec 6, 2024 09:50:10 ago (+0/-0)

So, joos lol.
But in all seriousness, USD is fucked and I don't know what will happen about it. All fiat currency is a ticking time bomb by virtue of its very nature.
The Hope-Fag in me really hopes there is a plan; the realist in me thinks we ought to buckle up as hard times will be upon us very soon.

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 4 monthsDec 6, 2024 13:16:45 ago (+1/-0)*

I believe there is a plan.
Many of them, in fact.
You've been hearing about them for years.
Words like 'Great Reset' or 'Agenda 2030'
I think this is how they achieve them.
CBDC's enable the granular application of social credit management; they're not a class of currencies, they're an enforcement tool.
Everyone thinks they will revolt because they can't truly understand what the experience of starvation is, or the horror of critical supply chain failures that no physical silver or bullet can restart.
The vast majority, to the point of near totality will demonstrate that belligerent internet defiance disappears when one has to watch his three year old begin to fade due to lack of food or a family member suffer when deprived of a critical medication.
COVID showed us the truth...
We won't fight when they offer us their poison salvation, I believe we'll beg them for it.

That's 100% a rational take and perhaps most likely. However I do believe there are potentially other more optimistic outcomes available with adoption of AI/ automation and whatnot. Almost for sure a pipe dream but this is a crazy timeline so you never know. As they say, hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
