I've got a translation for what was being said starting at the 6 minute, 30 second mark:

EDIT: The Ukrainian is screaming "base!" during the fight, basically screaming for help. He also calls the Russian a "fucking faggot" at one point.
EDIT 2: People are saying that it seems like the Russian took the Ukrainian's grenade and dropped it on him at the end. The Russian guy, a Yakut, is alive and becoming a bit of a celebrity in Russia because of this footage.

Ukrainian soldier (stabbed fatally): "Okay mum, goodbye. Wait, let me die in peace, you ripped me fully open. Let me breathe. It hurts a lot."
Russian soldier: "You fought great."
Ukrainian soldier: "Let me leave the earth in peace, don't touch me, I'm done. Let me die. Man, don't try- let me die. Go away please, I want to go alone. (Russian guy lets him go). Thank you. You were the best fighter in this world. (Russian stands up)

I often wonder the same thing when watching these videos. These small teams of 2 men wandering around a blasted hellscape, completely unsupported... It's very bizarre. Neither of these guys had friends within shouting distance, otherwise they would've engaged. There's not a massive battle happening- there is literally no gunfire in the background.

So, we have a random Ukranian soldier wandering around and stumbling across and random Russian soldier. This video shows why hand-to-hand training is important, though. Both men dropped their rifles pretty quickly, and then it just devolved into stabbing each other.

Towards the beginning of the war, we saw a lot of soldiers in groups, through drone footage where the drones fucked them up pretty bad. I think they've changed strategies to make the drones less effective, and since both sides are using drones, they're both more atomized.

FPV Drones have forced changes in ground assault tactics.

Saw a channel describing that Russia will often take an assault squad of ten men split it into two groups of five men and then split that again into fire groups of 2 and 3 men each to limited drone casualties by maximizing number of individual targets spread out over a much larger area or something like that.
Maybe this is already several hours into a back and forth over this shitty little village, and battle buddies are out of the fight/ or spread out across other parts of the village.

EDIT: On further info - partly from social media/ after-action reports by the RF guy - there were several Ukraine counter assaults on the village that day and this footage occurred somewhere in the middle, after his battle buddy had been killed in the previous counter assault, and there was another counter assault after this one - of the original 6 RF guys left defending the village at the beginning of the day only 2 (himself and one other) survived to the end of the day.
Counter-assaults troops are typically dropped off away from the village (to minimize drone attacks taking out the vehicle and all the men) and have to ruck the remaining kilometer or so before engaging but are still under constant counter-drone attack and surveillance which might explain why he was already by himself.

Just a terrible and devastating situation for both sides to be in and fight under.

And the footage they get is insane compared to all our guys footage from Afghanistan. In our US footage I never once saw a single enemy. It always looked like our guys were shooting at nothing the entire time.

From what i have been able to find, He and his teammate where tasked with reconnoitering the village and placing the Russian flag, they were subsequently 'ambushed ' by a small ukraine counter force operating with direct com feed drone protection (as heard on the video).

His team-mate was killed prior to the knife fight, and this guy had taken cover in the building from the drone attacks, that had pinpointed his location to the go-pro guy.
He popped a grenade under the guy's body armor at the very end and then put three shoots into him as he was still alive - barely.
He then repelled another Ukraine counter-attack later that day from another 6 Ukraine's - killing two more the rest withdrew.
Then he was able to withdraw sometime later after the drones left.
