Religious artists are a different breed. That kind of planning and skill can only come from having a connection with god.

More skill in this one piece than an entire modern gallery.

Unbelievable, the level of detail is breathtaking- look up some other pics of this, I promise you it's worth it.

I wonder how long it took to make? Imagine the hours hunched over this hunk of ivory with a set of chisels, carefully drawing these faces on.

It's not as dangerous as it looks if you start carving when the elephant is young.
