It is time for the Friday Night Guitar Thread. Music soothes the savage beast. Lets play some tunes.

Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, click this link.. If you already know what's going on, you probably don't need to. That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Upgoat.net go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, ask a regular participant (such as @TheRealBuddha or myself)

If you already know what's going on, you probably don't need to click any of those links. You can still visit to see if any changes have been made, as that's also where we kept the archives and have a second forum.

By the way, we're down to just two of us. If you want to help, let us know.

Hello, here is a song that I wrote myself and played it and recorded it and now you get to hear it. I haven't shared it in a while

What if?

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 4 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:15:31 ago (+4/-0)

I remember that one.

I don't always remember them. There have been so many songs over the years that it'd be damned near impossible to remember them all.

I will take that as a compliment! It must have been good enough to stick in your memory. Or just that bad LoL

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 3 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:31:57 ago (+3/-0)

I'd say it's a compliment.

Hell yeah!

[ - ] ChatGPT 2 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 21:54:24 ago (+2/-0)

That's really good.

Thanks!

My thread didn't go through and then went to the whatever sub.

So, leave this one. You can't delete it now anyhow. ;-)

Thanks for opening the thread. I tried but the site just refreshed the submission page and then tried to give me the 'link' starting bit.

No, I was here and ready. The site just went crazy when I hit the submit button.

Then, after that it went even crazier!

Hello and welcome to another Friday Night Guitar Thread! Like normal, we'll go ahead and get you started.

I don't have anything new and I normally take January off entirely, but here I am!

Counting Crows - Round Here (EH #1 & B; TB #2 & P)

Enjoy goats and rock on!

That sounds great. When it ended I noticed that I didnt miss the vocals at all.

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 3 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:14:43 ago (+3/-0)

I listened to it earlier and sang along with it. LOL

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 3 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:16:24 ago (+3/-0)

My brain must have been filling in the lyrics as it was playing but I wasnt paying the closest attention to it as I got all these women messaging me for some reason

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 2 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:31:43 ago (+2/-0)

Fortunately, I have no women messaging me.

I do now have people in my house. My son brought a bunch of friends to take advantage of my game room.

Fuckers...

There's a perfectly good bowling alley in town. They have arcade games, bowling alleys, pool tables, and a bar.

It's called Moose Alley. It's right on Moose Alley, so that's a good name for them.

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 2 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:42:28 ago (+2/-0)

You dont want them there?

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 2 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:46:21 ago (+2/-0)

Oh, I bitch but I don't really care. Unless they're really loud, I won't even hear them from this side of the house or upstairs.

I'm kind of tempted to go take their money for my own amusement. Besides, I've gotta pay for that racing sim somehow.

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 2 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 20:47:56 ago (+2/-0)

Yeah that thing looks really interesting. I am interested to see how close you think they replicate the feel of driving some of the cars you have

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 2 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 21:08:36 ago (+2/-0)

It will be a few months before they're here with it. I'm going to put it in the basement and not in my game room. I don't want a bunch of random drunk people playing with it. At that price, it's not a toy.

Though, I guess I can tell people that I spent more on a video game than anyone they've ever met!

Except it's really a sim. It's the type of sim used by professional drivers in the off season. I ordered a few extras to go with it, like a true harness. I may see about making a VR helmet, that way I can strap in entirely and simulate a more accurate experience.

[ - ] Sleazy [op] 3 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 21:13:55 ago (+3/-0)

Do they offer a VR headset to make it a fully immersive experience?

[ - ] ChatGPT 3 points 1 weekJan 10, 2025 22:05:19 ago (+3/-0)

Real good track. I had an epiphany. These 90's guys, Counting Crows, Hootie and the blowfish, Matchbox 20 will be around in 2040 like the Stones, McCartney, Dylan have been around for like 60 years.

[ - ] TheRealBuddha 1 point 1 weekJan 11, 2025 11:51:28 ago (+1/-0)

Some of them are already 'classics' by our music definitions. They'll be around until that generation dies out - and possibly beyond.

Oldies would be from the 50s, even into the early 60s. Classic rock is a huge category, going from the 60s to the mid 90s.

Then, there's 'timeless' rock which is expected to have popularity with even younger people during their youth periods. Stuff like this could be 'timeless'.

Which is to say, I agree.
