There are two distinct groups in medicine today

submitted by PenisEnvy to whatever 3 daysJan 10, 2025 22:38:50 ago (+13/-0)     (whatever)

I personally have been able to experience post covid medicine for the first time this past week. I cut my foot and developed sepsis and bone infection in my foot moving up my lower leg. 95 percent from the regency room to the treatment staff were and currently awesome to have help you. I believe they genuinely care about your health.

The other 5 percent needs to be taken outback and culled from society. That being said, when you get singled out with one of them do not even let them take you into any rooms or private areas without a second staff member. And don't let the person you suspect pick who they want. Ask a charge nurse or someone with authority. let it known you are uncomfortable and need someone with you so you do not feel threatened. And in many places making that statement is unlawful not for it to be accommodated.

Do not feel embarrassed in the request. If the one you suspect resist then ask for someone else. I found most perps to be overweight, tattooed, unnormal died hair color, excessive jewelry, or just crazy eyed. It has not failed me yet. These people want drama and will use you to get it. They thrive on it. It is a drug to them.

You have to be your own advocate and it is worth the extra measure overall. Rarely do they let these 5 percenters have real responsibility. But do always check your medicines for mistakes and review all order completely till you understand what you are supposed to do. Never not ask questions on items you do not understand and also ask about medication side affects. If they promote a major surgery get another opinion if you can. If not cancel if you must if it is something irreversible. Another doc will look it over quickly if you are in bad shape.

I say all this after being in the hospital. At first it was cut your leg off to save your life. Then cut your leg off to save your long term health. Lots and lots of pure bullshit. Then making them fight to keep it and do their job. You will find your advocates in their system. If not go somewhere else by transferring to another place run by a different group. It is your right where i live.

I think that i am on the mend and going to make a full recovery by being able to use my head and pay attention so far.

The medical profession attracts the worst people.

This really is true now. If you think about it most people want to be doctors now do it primarily because they want to make a lot of money. Then there's another group who's doing it because their dad or other family member was a doctor. They are almost no people who go to medical school to help other people. And I have to say in the doctor's defense that if any of those people actually do go and then they start treating some of these huge black incredibly rude patience they probably pretty quickly get rid of their care for humanity. And I don't think they can discriminate against who they see. They're stuck saying whoever walks through the door. It's not like the country is 99% white like it used to be and you could count on people to be pleasant and clean.

As for the lower echelons of the medical establishment pretty much every idiot who thinks that can make money goes to some fly by night medical technician school to learn how to change bedpans because they're going to make more money there than they do at McDonald's and that's what you end up with.

Somewhere in the middle or some hard-working nurses have gone to nursing school for far too long to end up changing sheets and bed pans but they're the hard workers when the doctors are out smoothing their egos and the low end med techs are completely fucking up then you have these actual nurses who are not afraid of hard worker not squeamish because they probably are moms and wiped a few kids asses in their day and I don't think our medical system could survive without them.

Completely agree. Nurses are the blood of the medical industry. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can replace a good nurse. They have the knowledge and do the work. The docs really are useless. My son was sick for a while requiring hospitalization and the good nurses were like angels taking care of my boy. The less than great nurses stood out like a rusty nail on a freshly white painted wall.

This is a dumb over-generalization.
Most people I know in the medical field, including myself, went into it b/c we like science and challenges, want to help people and figured it's a safe industry to go into b/c society will always have healthcare needs.
If I could rewind the clock I would never enter the field at all. I have learned a lot in the past 20 years since I graduated about how and (((why))) this system sucks. Pretty sure everyone here knows the system isn't designed to cure people b/c then you wouldn't have any customers. People like me feel locked into the system b/c of the limitations of using our degrees for something outside of medicine. Do you think things would be better if we all left? As it is I rationalize my part in the perpetuation of the system b/c I am still able to do some good. I will say "The CDC says I'm to tell you... Personally if you were my parent/brother/son, I would recommend..." and I haven't gotten in trouble yet so will keep at it.
Your statement is retarded b/c most people go into the medical field to help others.

I'm not saying all people in the profession are bad. There are some good nurses and docs but I'm saying it attracts very bad people.

The medical industry is completely kiked. I think I'd trust a car dealership's service department more than them at this point.

Kudos to you for not letting them talk you into a medieval times procedure.
