Today was fantastic. I've been having the missus do a lot of the driving. It's good for her to drive in some urban areas as that's not something we really see in Maine. If I see more than a few cars between my house and the village, that's a lot of traffic!

We went to a museum and the aquarium today. Tomorrow we're planning on heading to CT, skipping staying in RI. Connecticut mostly sucks donkey balls, but I have a good friend that I'd like to see. Specifically, the person I'm going to visit is someone who happily brings me marching powder.

So, we're going to meander around CT tomorrow, stopping at another museum and aquarium - maybe going to the Mark Twain house will be on the agenda. Then, we'll head to the casino, which is where we'll likely spend the night.

We may stay in CT for a couple of days, even though it pretty much sucks. I'm not sure which is worse, Hartford or Bridgton. They both suck. The whole thing pretty much sucks.

After that, I'm not sure where we'll go or what we'll do next. We may go backwards to visit RI for a day and then drive into NYC. We might even go up to Buffalo and visit Niagara Falls. It'll be pretty cold and nothing will be open, but it will also be pretty empty. I don't think the boat is even available at this time of the year. (Maid of the Mist, the boat that takes you up to the Falls.)

Anyhow, there's an update.

Yeah, that's not one of the years that really interests me. It's too close to the 'malaise era' for me. I'm not a huge Camaro fan. The older ones were pretty sweet but the mid seventies to mid nineties aren't of much interest to me.

The catfish version, whenever that came out (my memory says 96 or 98) were an improvement. I do like the looks of those a bit more than the ones from the malaise era. I don't recall the specifics, but they made one with a six speed and a pretty solid engine. That one would interest me.

Also, low mileage cars are a huge risk. Cars need to be run. Without fluids and heat moving through them, they end up with ruined gaskets and cracked lines. If I don't get to it, my cars all go out periodically. They make a pretty specific ~10 mile loop which is enough for them to warm up and then cool themselves down a bit. That's enough to keep them healthy, but you still need to run them.

You also need to change the fluids regularly. Those fluids break down. It's not just gasoline. Oil should be replaced every few years, even if it was driven no miles. If you're driving (and still not doing enough miles) your oil should be replaced every six months.

Met up with some old friends and stomped around MIT for a while, generally making a bit of an ass of myself by happily opening any doors I felt like opening. Visited my old frat and just walked right in 'cause the door was unlocked. I was disappointed to see no beer in their fridge so I left and returned with beer. They were not as impressed as they should have been.

We're going to spend another day stomping around the area, going to the museum and aquarium tomorrow.
